For the last 15 years I've seen AIM shares bomb on spud news. The days of J R Ewing yeehaw are long gone m'fraid. All considering this hasn't tanked too badly. It could be a lot worse on such excellent news.

It'll rebound some when they've all finished their fun.

There's some Twitter action and excitement this morning on the news, but perhaps unsurprisingly, nothing, as yet, from Deltic itself.

At least we're off to the races. They did keep to the mid-Nov spud date which is a plus.

Initial well can be used to define and prove up the area. The whole prospect will need to be drilled over time, it's not dependent upon one well.

That was going to be my next question - a court case would be a matter of public record.

I stand by my point whether the court case is real or just scenario. I am afraid we are in the grip of (imo) a narcissist. Not a deliberately bad man, and he's clearly clever and skilled. But someone who imo lacks empathy for his shareholders and backers. Hence why this project has spun out for so long. And looks likely to continue for the foreseeable.

A pity. He could have had a good thing off the ground and up and running yonks ago.

If this is true then it backs up what I suspected - he sounds like a textbook narcissist. They're basically hardwired to believe they are right in everything they say or do, and we little people are just there as minions. This would explain the total blank stare and lack of empathy for shareholders whilst outwardly appearing to work hard and say all the right things.

This is why I get the sense he's not a 'bad' man - for the sake of being bad. More that he's programmed to act the way he does because to a narcissist that's totally normal. What's the problem if I make you all wait for LSE instead of quickly getting back on AIM? What's the problem if you're nagging and begging me for 4/5 years? What's the problem if Applegarth's wife dies without seeing their money ever unlocked?

The 'court case' would explain a lot imo. Whether it's true or not.

The markets desensitised to spuds in general. It's really after results. But that doesn't mean there won't be interest coming in once this starts. It's being rather downplayed by the media but it is a huge deal.

I had to laugh because a nearby tug had its destination as 'Pepsacola' which I don't know if it was a genuine fat fingers moment or they were larking about, but funny nonetheless.

From the link provided below, the rig looks to be in place as the pink dot has disappeared and it is being attended by the two supply ships. The Fairplay tugs have moved right off, one is heading back the way it came and the other has vanished.
Though there are a few tugs moving down the Eastcoat which are just registering as 'tugs' atm, rather any specific crafts, so there may be signal issues. It'll be in there somewhere. But looks as if the job of the tugs is complete.

May take a day or six for them to set up shop with the rig and get everything into sync. Spud for mid-Nov seems a reasonable target now.

As I'm sure many here are, being long-suffering O & G share veterans, the sp pattern is rarely a straightforward blue line upwards for any drill these days. There are going to be pullbacks when people least expect, days of boredom, 'pub talk' that comes to nothing and potential delays. You have to be ready for anything. Sp can go down on interim RNSs that the market sees as fluff.

At least we're unlikely to attract hordes of JSO where we are but apparently Shell's new office has just been 'love bombed'.

The tugs and supply ship have the rig encircled and look like they're nudging it steadily into place. It been like this for the last couple of hours but looks to be at the end of the beginning. :) Good luck, everyone.

About 15 miles off with almost no other traffic.

By 'just off of Hull' I mean about 200 km out but parallel to, and in the next hour or two they'll be level with Scarborough so at this clip they should easily make the drop early morning tomorrow.

It's just off of Hull atm so not far to go now.

Bigbench, he could Crowdfund and get that amount tbh. Young tech entrepreneurs could raise it in a matter of weeks. CP is burnt out imo. His interest has gone, imo. Hence I didn't other with the latest live session. Though will probably cast an eye over it. To me, any one of his 'diamond buddies' from the Middle East could throw a chunk at this for a percentage, plus help him promote it out there, a huge market for locals and tourists.

A savvy techie would have had this dealt with years ago. There's something about this man. He's not a bad man I don't think. But to me he's lost his spark and is just treading water these days. Maybe the project has become too precious for him to want to turn loose, idk. It's strange.
