PALANGKA RAYA – Investigators from the Central Kalimantan High Prosecutor's Office have escalated the handling of the alleged corruption case related to the sale and export of zircon commodities and their derivative minerals in Central Kalimantan to the investigation stage.
The case status was upgraded after investigators found indications of criminal incidents in mining activities involving private companies.
The official investigation steps were carried out on Tuesday (10/3/2026) based on the Investigation Order Letter from the Head of the Central Kalimantan High Prosecutor's Office Number: PRIN-02/O.2/Fd.2/03/2026.
This case relates to alleged corruption in the sale of zircon and its derivative minerals involving PT KBM and other entities in Central Kalimantan Province from 2020 to 2025.
Investigators Search Two Locations
On the same day, the investigative team also immediately conducted searches at two locations in Palangka Raya City.
The first location is the office of the Central Kalimantan Province Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Office located on Jalan Tjilik Riwut Km 5.5, Bukit Tunggal Village, Jekan Raya District.
The second location is the PT KBM office which is located at Jalan Mangku Rambang Number 1, Menteng Village, Jekan Raya District.
From the two locations, investigators secured a number of documents suspected of being related to the alleged corruption case in the sale and export of zircon and its derivative minerals.

Based on investigators' investigations, the case stemmed from PT KBM's mining business permit. On September 22, 2014, the company obtained an exploration Mining Business Permit (IUP) through a Decree of the Kapuas Regent.
The permit was then upgraded to a Production Operation IUP in 2018 through a decision of the Head of the DPMPTSP of Central Kalimantan Province with a validity period of five years.
