People were prepared to pay 90+p only a few days ago on a rumour that turned out not to be accurate...

This is great news, I think we can consider these pre-FIDs as being significantly better than a "handshake" coming from successful HAR bids with Government funding.

Indeed, it is just a debating point used to attempt to ridicule and therefore prevent the use of Hydrogen. Despite the fact that Petrol ICE are around 20-40% efficient and Hydrogen Fuel Cell can be 40-60% efficient, so they then use the argument of lower efficiency versus electricity, ignoring the fact that is conflating and discounting the battery problems with weight etc.

It is as if sides are chosen, battle lines drawn up and only one solution can win, instead of recognising that different solutions will be optimal in different situations. With tribalism just becoming more entrenched with each debate.

I hadn't signed up for it, have now. I had been periodically checking and follow on LinkedIn, I particularly liked the H2 Scooters in China, given that we have the proliferation of e-bikes and e-scooters (of the other type), H2 scooters (moped-style), we could well see imports of those in the coming years, which would help to drive the need for a refuelling network. I still want an H2 car, on which note, Honda entering H2 FCEV into the Broadmoor Pikes Peak international hill climb.

Bjet, you forgot to mention that it is up 23% over the year, meaning that the it has unwound the a big chunk of the drop many posters here were pointing out was unjustified and not taking account of the improved company position. With buyers having been prepared to pay 94p only a week or so ago which gets back to the level before the overselling started. Hopefully, the market will then start to give a fair valuation and start looking at the addition of more contracts in a positive light if/when they get announced.

I shall be watching next week with interest.

Tennents - yes I wondered if anyone would pick up on that - but might then be worth remembering that once that realisation sank in, Dennis had to see the sp plummet (too far and too long, that's true) but ITM now have had a series of meaningful announcements and contract wins. It can't be argued that with the benefit of hindsight, I should not have topped up at £1, 48[ or 35p but waited until the 25-30p range. I didn't but c'est la vie

But given all that, my analysis was in effect saying why on earth would an investor switch to AFC over ITM now when AFC is only at the start of fixing the problems that ITM has already come through?

Fail to see the need to bring politics into it - the civil servants are the same and they are the same ones who kicked off smart metering in 2007 (Lab) that the Tories opposed until the coalition government. The same ones who kicked off HS2 during the Brown/Blair administration that the Tories opposed until the coalition government and the same ones who have been bleating about CCS for 20 years regardless of administration and flogged off our nuclear fleet to the French at a knockdown price on the vague promise of some new stations that should both have been operating by now and still aren't even built.

Let's focus on the positives for ITM that they have developed great connections in other territories and secured contracts from countries actually getting their fingers out of their @##@s

Not really relevant to ITM but I'm not surprised, it basically said "our previous processes were rubbish and we have now learned how to read and follow manufacturing instructions; oh and we might enter into an agreement with someone to secure widgets"

Or in other words Troublesome, you agree with me - it is an announcement that there will be an announcement - and therefore, utterly superfluous and useless.

ITM is not dependant on UK Political whims, that was the point of my post yesterday following the spending review speech - ITM is getting good traction in multiple territories with multiple type end-use customers. Whether the UK gets moving in not is now an issue for whether the UK becomes an exporter or importer of H2 but not a success/failure issue for ITM.

ITM is going from strength to strength regardless of what UK Gov does

On topic, you know that Bilbo, I know that, but unfortunately there are at least 2 generations who's ability to develop and apply critical thinking and distinguish truth from propaganda has been badly diminished.

I absolutely think that CCS can be described as a waste of money - and have made that repeatedly clear several times. It has never been proven to work at scale and still uses fossil fuels and the "captured" carbon can not be proven not to escape.

I think it is clear what "spaffing" means, but on that I think I'll just go DYOR

It is an old civil service trick, announce the money will be spent, then announce what it is being spent on to make it look like new money, when it isn't.

@Cureboy, absolutely, the only question is will UK become a net exporter or importer of Hydrogen, my experience of incompetent civil servants is that we will become net importers of Hydrogen because they as usual have been derelict in their duty to advise on what is the best way forward and too embedded with Fossil Fuel vested interests (who want the CCS subsidy).

The irony of ITM exporting to say Germany for Britain to then import the Hydrogen produced, Sir Humphrey would be so pleased.

Well I for one am glad that irrelevant hype-fest is over and the market seems to have given it a resounding "Whatever" - all the speech demonstrated to me is that the UK civil servants remain firmly fixed in the past looking at failed technologies and policies.

£38 Billion going to CCUS (£22Billion Ed has been spaffing away since last year and the £14 Billion for Sizewell C and £2.2 Billion for RR SMR (well done RR shareholders)). How many electrolyers could have been commissioned with that and the offshore/near shore wind to feed them?

I'm glad I discounted UK influence on ITM long ago as per my debates with "you know who" (remember Candyman and Beetlejuice kids, don't say the name). ITM is focused on Germany, Belgium, Spain, Scandinavia, Japan, "mysterious Asian country" and possible Australia with the licensing. If anything meaningful came from UK HAR1,2 or 3 that would be nice to have extra but isn't the be all and end all. Fortunately the market appears to be taking a similar view as no over-reaction seems to have come from that damp squib of an announcement.
