@Romingronaldo half the fund managers are probably more interested in the parties at the moment and nursing hangovers. Bit of churn today from a few day traders in and out - next week will be more illuminating on sentiment.

In any case there's been an average of around 2 significant announcements per month since April - the company is just getting stronger. If the market doesn't begin to recognise it, then an opportunity to load up more shares if possible for the dividends to roll-in but I think the market will make some sensible decisions following the January update.

I think macro events, Inflation, Economoy, Tax rises, geopolitical are weighing heavily on markets. ITM goes from strength to strength, January update and a few announcements in between should be doing well.

Well they are engineering designs/FEED which someone mentioned were typically 1% of the contract value for MW so I suppose you could call them milliwins?

Agreed Bilbo - the issue is (hence my little cry over GBE strategy you posted) that the Civil Servants will take too long to realise they are following a redundant path already 20 years too late. The strategy change has to happen now - but I think you and I probably agree, that is an uphill struggle.

I remember watching the first tidal generation devices on Tomorrow's World in the 80s. It is a source of frustration as to why the UK has surrendered both the scientific competitive advantage and the UK PLC advantage of using tidal. Ideology over rationality.

Fahrenheit451, I've been in the Energy industry over 20 years. Ofgem knew about the Cheviot Boundary constraint in the early 2000s and made it worse (Scotland/England transmission boundary) and allowed unmanaged connection of new generation where it knew the power could not be utilised while the Gov't pursued a path of energy destruction of the generating plants where the transmission was and where the power was used (nuclear and coal). The wind should have been sited on-shore to take advantage of the coal connections, off-shore wind where the nukes were. They didn't do that (enough).

There is an existing well supported gas distribution network that can utilise the power from all that wasted wind from St Fergus in Scotland, through to the onshore North Sea gas pipelines, without building insecure bootstraps down the Scottish coast impacting marine life and without marching Pylons from Norfolk to Tilbury - but electrify everything (ideology) is trumping rationality yet again.

Major grid upgrades are not needed - Major upgrade of Energy Strategy is needed with a rational design that caters for intermittency of renewables (a storage vector) realistic siting of new generation, re-purposing of the existing gas network. Not throwing it all away and building new at massive unnecessary cost.

I agree - I see this as DT "sell the news" day. Which is a good thing. No day trader hype trading and a spike - instead will see funds, PIs, etc. start to buy-in more from early next week most likely.

Give it time, imo.
