Yep, I've mentioned this several times. A stablegrid-type solution is the only one that works. Locational charging does nothing, can't pick 2 million people up out of London and move them to the Highlands of Scotland (even if social engineering by London councils to re-locate low income families is trying to do this).
The Bootstraps are a really, really, bad idea especially in these times of geo-political uncertainty. Single point of failure open to sabotage. Not to mention really expensive.
BESS doesn't work cannot bypass the constraint issue - unless use SOFC and transport them south of the boundary (nonsense, how could it be done without increased carbon release, the weight is prohibitive)?
H2 is the only workable solution to store wasted wind generation.
