UK racing headfirst into net zero oblivion……..current average UK lecky per kWh 25p…..USA 13p per kWh…..and in my humble opinion the stateside lecky will stabilise at or around that price or get cheaper if more fossil fuels become available……..the world is in a renewable state of madness that will for certain impoverish and destroy business…….that ability to do business gets transferred to the countries and states with the cheapest energy

These pie in the sky figures in the future never take into account the high capital costs do they……rooftop solar?….where’s the money coming from,very likely to be pilfered and misappropriated……a billion dollars a year to get to these targets,heaving subsidies and land appropriation it’s the folly of a developed nation……anyway let them have a play….it grabs headlines and I’m sure the elephants and wild cats will thank them one day as the 170mln inhabitants pick up the tab……

All old laws including the immunity law will be repealed in the power, energy and mineral sectors and the ongoing corruption in purchasing electricity from quick rental power plants that are against the public interest will be stopped in order to prevent hemorrhage in the national economy. Appropriate measures will be taken to avoid import dependence and to generate renewable and mixed energy-dependent electricity and to discover and extract neglected gas and mineral resources.

Investment-friendly policies will be adopted for the development of the industrial sector and to attract domestic and foreign investment. Encouragement, opportunities and incentives will be given to the investment of expatriate Bangladeshis. A comprehensive industrial infrastructure will be built nationwide in a planned manner.

Among 121 short-term actionable recommendations made by various reform commissions, 16 have already been implemented while 85 are under implementation.

Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam shared the information after a meeting of the Council of Advisers at the Secretariat with Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus in the chair.

“The Chief Adviser had earlier formed 11 reform commissions. These commissions have submitted their respective reports and today’s meeting reviewed the implementation status of those recommendations identified for urgent action,” he said.

The Press Secretary said the Cabinet Division received 121 such recommendations deemed suitable for immediate implementation from the Law Adviser based on inputs from key commissions including the Electoral Reform Commission, Police Reform Commission, Judicial Reform Commission, Anti-Corruption Reform Commission and Public Administration Reform Commission.

Ten recommendations are being partially implemented while another 10 are still under review to determine their feasibility, he added.

Chinese knock one in for gas drilling 👍

Bangladesh Gas Fields Company Limited (BGFCL) has signed an agreement today (7 August) with China's Chuanqing Drilling Engineering Company Ltd (CDECL) to drill two deep gas wells at the Titas and Bakhrabad fields, aiming to ease the country's ongoing energy shortage.
