It’s like a bloody mausoleum on here,what’s changed???……..nothing only that figure in your trading account!!……this is a concerted attack on a company that is not giving its stock away freely to newcomers……the company notices say closest ever,not if when!!……the green cuckoo government is unanimously in favour of creating a coal extraction policy for a very pro domestic resource govt to follow!…..we are months/weeks away from detail on that policy….months away from it highly likely to be implemented……….I did say it was gonna get tough around Gcm,they want my shares at any cost…..

This article is a couple of weeks old,I missed it apologies if it has been posted here on a pantomime day…..the coal supply is the issue,but if the government moves ahead with our project their should be an internal supply of fuel for 20+ yrs chopping out a lot of the inefficient of sourcing the coal,shipping,unloading and transport?

Looking Ahead: If current challenges are resolved, coal-based power could significantly reduce Bangladesh’s electricity costs and improve reliability. With over 7,000 MW of capacity already in place, experts argue that enabling even 80% of this fleet would greatly stabilize the grid.

To achieve that, the government must: Fast-track completion of grid infrastructure projects, Ensure timely payments for fuel imports, Improve coal import logistics and handling, Enhance preventive maintenance and monitoring. There is also growing consensus around diversifying energy sources and reducing dependency on expensive liquid fuels. Renewable energy investments—especially solar and wind—are being eyed as long-term alternatives to balance the grid and reduce import dependence.

Despite significant investment in coal-based power generation, structural inefficiencies, fuel logistics, and grid constraints are preventing Bangladesh from capitalizing on this capacity. Until these issues are holistically addressed, the full benefits of the country’s energy expansion may remain out of reach—further straining the economy and slowing industrial progress.

And I don’t think it’s a coincidence this attack on the share price coincided with the Bangladeshi energy minister being out the country with smiler…….there’s a new coal policy on its way and that’s a gamble to attack the stock with that on the horizon but having Fouzel tucked up in Malaysia all week leaves room for the shove on the stock?……

Yes gp…I don’t think any govt will be keen to keep the bara underground rates going they are extortionate due to previous govt arrangements?……a better use would be to close it reclaim all the colliery by open pit method ,all the subsidence issues could be rectified and extract minerals at the same time as underground mining is very inefficient…….

Just to put things in perspective for Bara…..i think over a 12 month period this equates to about 7k ton a week……Phulbari is expected to turn out 288k ton a week at potentially half the price of bara fuel?

Authorities have launched a new phase of extraction at Barapukuria Coal Mine in this north-western region expecting to dig out 3.94 lakh tones of hydrocarbon from the quarry in the next one year.

“Extraction began in the quarry under a new phase after one and half months,” state--run Barapukuria Coal Mining Company’s (BCMCL) managing director M Abu Taleb Farazi told reporters at the site.

He said the extraction works were re-launched in full swing from midday Sunday following a trial run on Saturday.
