Environment, forest and climate change adviser Syeda Rizwana Hasan once again reminded that cancelling fossil fuel power plants would not be so easy.

‘Coal-based and Rooppur nuclear power plants are not going to be cancelled,’ said Rizwana.

‘They will continue to be a thorn in our side,’ she said.

Obviously, as the consumers' interest protection body suggested, the successive governments' priority should have been addressing the issue of corruption and irregularities in the power sector, in particular. In that case, the consumers could be relieved of the tyranny of endless escalation of power and energy prices while at the same time the government would not have to bear the undesirable burden of subsidies. Now that the burden is already on the government's, or for that matter on the nation's shoulder for whatever reason, it must be gotten rid of by all means. Small wonder that the global lender has set this condition of power tariff for releasing the fourth tranche of the loan it has already committed and confirming the fresh amount of loan worth US$3.0 billion that previous government has made a request for.

Power China will be way ahead of the game here…..I’ve posted articles to show how close China is with the Bangladeshi govts…they have courted all political parties related to the upcoming elections and all those parties have set in stone there willingness to use all the country’s resources to chop reliance on imported fuel…….the Chinese are masters of tact….they are currently servicing the needs of the green liberal govt solar agenda but they know that tenure is short!!…..then the real work begi😉

As I see it,if the stock stays at these levels which is typically UK aim sentiment why should Tang give away a bigger slice of his cake on funding in 2025?…..one of two things will happen the news flow will ramp up and the stock will climb to a reasonable level or Tang will get his hand in his pocket……..it’s going to be an exciting year!
