The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
I've been thinking about what moves the company might have to make in the next few months.
I think a share price consolidation will be on the cards. The ii's are in and a lot of the weaker PI's have been shaken off, leaving just a lot of long-term holders. II's will need this to very much NOT be a penny stock. This wont affect the share price too much, but is an important bit of housekeeping.
AZ also has to continue his focus on scale. I know $8bn sounds like a lot, but for a global financing outfit dealing in 3 year cycles, it's not going to be enough to give him a deep client base. He'll need to have a strategy in place to get more funding lined up. Hopefully good results in the regional pilot schemes will attract suitors.
AZ needs to worry about the time it takes to get that deep client base too. He has a window of opportunity of about 1 year before the majors launch similar products. He HAS to be unassailable by then because the big banks already have clients and funding and people. Tick tock.
So for next few months RNS's are going to be sparse and perhaps inconsistent. AZ will be doing a lot of separate, seemingly disparate activities to secure these foundations. It might be frustrating for PI's in the short term. Be calm. Breathe. Hold.
It's a great stock and a great opportunity but there are still some rocky waters to navigate for all those on the good ship SYME. Good Luck shipmates.
Its worse than that. The Botswana 'trial' was to allow them the opportunity to sign up contracts. If they had, it would have been announced before now. The end of the Botswana trial with no RNS in between, means that opportunity closes with no sales either.
So, it was mentioned in a previous RNS that Nigeria would have had to give them 60 day notice of cancelling the licence if they were intending not to extend. Everyone is (almost) agreed that the extension is in the bag. With that in mind it makes sense that Essar might have begun planning for drills as soon as that 60 day period had passed without notice. What I'm getting at, is that the next RNS confirming the extension is probably going to have some surprisingly early drill dates. Thoughts?
Hi Casual. Look back at my post history and you can see that not only was I invested here but I was very supportive of the company and the technology. I was desperately hoping for some sales but I bailed after zero comms from the board in 9 weeks during a period where they said they had 'massive interest'. The only 'sale' they have listed is an existing partnership with a small private health company in a nearby office. I could have stayed in if the comms had been better but I got out and am genuinely not wanting other misty-eyed PI's to be sucked in by the magic words 'covid' and 'blockchain' and lose their money. Its a genuine heartfelt plea, not some paid for conspiracy. Like biglad6 I have always hoped to be proven wrong and still do, but with every passing day I feel more and more sorry for those hanging in there waiting for payday.
AGM today and not one recent trading update. Nothing new can be discussed at AGM without first being announced to market, so reality is that nothing is happening with CTEA. Looks like they couldn't capitalise on COVID, despite having a viable app and £1m in the bank. This is a failure of the management team but don't worry, I'm sure there doing all Ok out of it. Expect another placing if you are still in this mess of a share.
I’m the same as you crizmo. I got out as the company has no substance, no sales and no news flow. Was initially a fan but bow have been trying to prevent other PI’s from falling for some of the pump and dumpers who use this share as a football. This AGM will be bad news for PIs. Best move into something else.
It's possible, but AZ has said they are good for cash right now because of current income. Only way he would do a placement is for strategic partnership reasons and he seems to be ok on that front too. Agree though, that SP will not rise in a straight line. there will be bumps on the road.
Yes but am not going to spoon feed my thinking to you.
An immunity passport, probably won't be a smartphone app.:
