Anyone can trade at tradegate, pi and ii, no matter. But tradegate ich mainly automated, no MMs playing games. Nobody manipulating prices to fill II ordes and as far as I know, no own stock. All is just p2p. But if you wish to buy a million shares, tradegate would not be the right place, because nobody would collect half a day to fill your order. Maybe that is, why people say, Tradegate is pi only.
For some shares, people "play" Marketmakers, which means: They have a certain amount of money and a certain number of shares and offer an ask price and a bid price with their own spread. As soon as someone tries to buy or sell somewhere inbetween, they tighten their spread to get him out. And if he gets much closer to their limits, they buy the shares or sell to him and open thier spread directly after.
A single trade at Tradegate up to 10,000 euros costs me a flat rate of 10 euros. At 10,000 euros it costs me a flat rate of 25 euros.
