López Obrador specified that it will be a state company and said that this will guarantee that there are no conflicts between other countries for the exploitation of that mineral in Mexico.

He pointed out that it is a resource as strategic as oil, and it was decided that the concession to extract it is of a special nature, since “it will be exploited for the benefit of Mexicans,” he said.

The head of state stated that it will not be from the United States, China or Russia, and pointed out that the Chinese mining company Ganfeng Lithium, which currently claims the exploitation of the mineral, will not be able to exploit the lithium found in Bacanora, Sonora (northwest).

He added that the license that was granted to that company ten years ago does not allow it, since it only allows the exploitation of other minerals, and expressed that if necessary it will be investigated how the concession given to Ganfeng by the Federal Commission was approved. of Economic Competition (Cofece).

Oh well, not totally unexpected and something Ganfeng will have had plenty of DD with, so perhaps it might prove beneficial for promoting KDNC into the mining news circles and possibly national press - still our other assets are more than a justification for the mcap.
