'BNC could not afford to pay the divi due next week .....' ? The dividend is still being paid. A reduced cash dividend has been on the cards for some while - this will apply to the 2015 dividend - the 2014 dividend continues with the scrip.
Marketwatch - 'Santander, the eurozone's largest bank by market value, posted net profit of EUR1.61 billion ($2.01 billion) compared with EUR1.06 billion reported a year earlier. Analysts polled by data provider FactSet had anticipated net profit of EUR1.51 billion.'
in this weeks IC - but I can't see it making an impact on tomorrow's SP.
SAN has a core capital buffer of 10.34% (a buffer of above 8% is required to pass the test). BBVA has a core capital buffer of 8.97%.
To me, the FT is correct. I don't know where the other dates come from - I've seen four different dates quoted from various sites, including the 15th when they're still pricing the ratio. If you're on the register at cop today then you will receive the scrip offer.

Today (16th) we should know the ratio - they usually announce in the evening. Tomorrow (17th) is the record date. After the 17th (ie the 20th being the next trading day) the shares are trading ex-rights.
Only ex-div on a Wed for Uk shares. I still think the BNC ex-div is 18th (or 20th for a trading day). Whatever the date we'll receive a better scrip ratio based on the low SP over the last few days.
Scrip ratio declared 16 Oct 14, record date is 17 Oct 14 so ex-div from 18 Oct 14.
At the time of the original IPO proposal (now postponed until at least 2016), BNC suggested there would be a beneficial option for existing BNC shareholders to take up/transfer to SAN UK shares at the time of IPO. I'm long BNC anyway so I'll wait to see what the options are - if there is no real incentive I'll just keep my BNC shares. It seems BNC will return to a cash (no scrip) dividend at some point which also needs to be taken into account. SAN UK shares will obviously have no withholding tax.

28 buys in a row. Has this been tipped somewhere?
Interims due this month.
Yes - I've been accumulating on the dips over the last few months.
An interesting series of buys this morning...
Here we go with a new start. New website to match: http://www.inspiredcapitalplc.com/ Looks good & much more appropriate content.
Comment from Javier Marín Romano CEO '...with respect to the U.K. IPO, well, it's not on the table right now so it's -- we will do the IPO of the U.K. whenever we think it's appropriate, but it's not on the table right now, so you cannot expect that either for this year or for 2015, at least'.
Not really - just intrigued to understand it. Will add under 16.
Another trail of sells - looks like a large holder contining to reduce/exit?
I think they're right to lose the Renovo name associated with the legacy business.
