DHC - I remember those days well as I was previously a holder who sold out at 40p last year with a small profit only to be shocked to see it fall to sub 10p. I was lucky to buy back in at 9.8 as I couldn't believe the placing wiped off 50% of the SP. So glad I did now, but I have to say it was a punt at that point but the more I learn from posters here referencing great source material, the more excited I am by the potential here. best wishes all

Daz, That's why I am still here. This share has been good to me overall so I cant complain as my current investment is cost neutral. Thankfully I learnt to the over exposure lesson beforehand as that is why I wouldn't top up now. Suffice to say of I wasn't in this share I would certainly buy in at current levels :)

Woody. that is my point, he couldn't do anymore but the RNS of last year re the potential find of the decade was not lost on many investors and the subsequent SP collapse was the result of high expectations being dashed. I don't lay blame at his door my obs relate to investor sentiment which as you can see from todays SP movement is not as good as you may expect. This sort of RNS a year ago resulted in gains that stuck whereas this year things are entirely different. As I say, it is just my humble opinion on the drivers for the current market sentiment. GLA

JC - I wasn't making a personal attack on GH per se' as I feel the same about his integrity as you may. My observations were about his position as the CEO of a company and as such representative of that company. I agree the Newmount issue was unfortunate but for me at least the problems lied in the frequent, but too often, totally inconsequential updates to the market. I can only speak for myself of course but this took its toll last year but I'm still in the share for the long term. regards deepjoy

The problem with GH now is that he has lost a lot of trust from last year. I still own a significant number of shares and have to be honest made a decent profit overall although my current holding is 67% down. That is the problem here, for many PI's who are still in this share they are sitting on large paper losses and looking to recup some of that so cryptic updates doesn't cut the mustard... I do believe the company has a good future but like many who have learnt from past mistakes I wont risk anymore capital until something very very solid is announced. GLA

excellent post Myosotis thanks. The SP movements are nice and steady which in effect locks out day traders which has to be good news for LTHs. I think this share is currently still trading at a discount but I am happy to see that rather than it ramping up and down.. One think is certain for me based on last years SP movement, if this does drop then I wont chase it....

You see over 20% to 7% back to 15% but the spread tells a story and then add broker fees ... burning cash on a roller coaster... my prediction for what little it is worth is 5% overall by end of play....not that I care as I ain't going anywhere...

Hold tight and if we make 7% today overall that is a result...only the start IMO over the coming days as people who got spiked leave and others who took profits early look for buy in points :)

I've only been investing 18 months and in that time I learnt some harsh but necessary lessons... The first was overexposure and the second was never to try to trade up or down on AIM (GGP). That said, these lessons came early and I have turned around a 10% overall loss into a 2% current gain in a falling market. I am in this for a modest amount compared to most but still 10% of my portfolio. I won't trade this as I have don't have the skill and I wont add anymore. I am of the firm belief that over the next few months this will re-rate much higher and I hope it goes the way of a slow and steady crawl up :) All the best to all holders and this technology is the future but be careful :)

Be interesting to see what happens when the US market opens. The share price movement is typical AIM :)

FR - spot on IMHO!! That is why PI's need to focus on the company fundamentals, growth potential and very significant investments in expansion already in play. This sector isn't going to shrink but it may take a breath. I wouldn't buy more shares at the moment, but, I am not selling either that is for sure. If it drops I'll buy significantly more but at the present time I think the market may have found a true value in the short term.I don't see shorters making much of a killing from here as there are a host of PIs who understand the potential.. Just my opinion of course and seeing Sainburys rise hurting them was a rare but nice moment :) regards deepjoy

Lumentum is 9% higher on open soooo in theory :)

Happy to be corrected by more knowledgable posters here but my take on the reported fall in revenues being seasonal is that there is a stall in demand at the present time. Makes sense I suppose with many new products reportedly under development... Any other thoughts from others here?

JC - I agree, I suspect people are nervous of the short positions and the volatile SP over the last 6 months.... I cant fathom the reasons for the short positions now they have achieved a 30% return but it must be part of a wider sector play and the latest results from Lumentum may not go down well in the US.

JC - forgive my ignorance but how can shorters try to keep the price down, unless they have borrowed shares yet to sell to the market? If this was case what would be the point at this stage given that the support levels are strong around 100 wouldnt they let is rise much higher and then sell borrowed shares? I'm confused...

I agree Harry, although your technical insight is way ahead of mine. My optimism is fuelled by the patents IQE hold and also the fact that they are investing for increased future capacity scaled sensibly over time. Looking forward to the next 12-18 months with no expectation of any significant re-rate to 150+ any time soon.
