Can I just say that this is the best "on point" and "relevant" SP chat room Im a part of. What I like is that everyone cares - not for each other, but for their views. Keep it up - Fordm, AC, Jtan, Sunds, Scotty, to name just a few. Compare this with the Lloyds chat room - and its all about anything but the SP!

S&P500 is holding up - expecting a period of stability tomorrow afternoon and then it's anyone's guess from Thurs.. Oct 21 buyin day....

AC bang on again today tho not quite the fluctuations expected . More turbulance tomorrow expected but with an SP finish 1.02... BA Business fundamentals all point to Rome...

Fordm - when arranging boat crossings tell the crew to look out for a swimmer friend of mine who plans to swim the channel tomorrow weather dependant. He too is a disappointed IAG investor - break even at 1.70 I think so some sympathy appropriate.

AC has had a good run with his predictions chaps. My reading is that these predictions are often premised on S&P performance...The volumes indicate the big boys have still not joined and so this rise is vulnerable....

Wonder if this is more that a technical uplift and that actually its the big boys edging in cautiously....How else are the shorts being overpowered?...

AC - yep agree re volumes.... Sundz I admire your long term views. Just as an aside - have been dipping in and out of Lloyds each day and collected each time - its been a nice steady riser over the last week.

Although great, this steady rise makes me nervous - how long can demand outstrip the shorts...I feel all bets are off now - an SP of 86 is history and a few more punters on the Oct 31 table are back in the game (not me tho or Sunds unfort)...

Guys I hope everyone has either recouped some
Losses or made some money - I’m in the former group and will be until this SP hits 1.20 which may well be before Xmas….

ACC I dont understand how you can reach an average of 94.89? Suggests you havent bought and held these past 6 months and suggests your ave isnt really an average at all but a few holdings acquired in the last couple of day which if true suggests you are essentially a technical day trader?

ACC without ack your Oct views - with Options expiring 21st Oct makes sense to be out a week before then - back in 22nd in time for Q3 results…. That’s how I’m going to play it….

% wise who much of the FTSE is owned by US investors both private and institutional? Does anyone have an idea?

It’s 98 post closing

Pound as stabilised at 1.11 and the SP back up to 98. That's a better finish to the day than we could have expected. I also took a punt in the Lloyds SP this afternoon and have walked away with a wee profit on paper. On Lloyds that SP was up at 48p just before this carnage having been steadily rising for a month. Fundamentals for that rise havent changed this past week so worth a look.... Have a break even tranch in IAG at 1.02 - Hoping to go into the black on that front tomorrow..... and then Oct results hype to produce a pop to sell further tranches up the value ladder.....

US markets clearly havent assisted. S&P down 1.9%. This number 86 which ACC is so fond off is looking a little (but just a little) more likely.....

We will wait and see ACC. Beers on me if it happens.... Beers on you if it doesnt?
