We were told recently we could build 200-300 units in house. We were told we have a £27m order book. Over what period has that order book built up ? Since the 50+ qualified leads ? You don’t wait several months after announcing a £27m order book and then think, right guys, how are we going to build these ? The whole thing stinks. Where are the 10 initial power towers that were built ? Do Speedy have them ? Are they out on trials ? Or have they just vanished along with our money ?

A rough guess based on a comparison against diesel gensets costing £7.5k, 12k and £15k respectively for 10kw, 30kW and 50kw, we’ve been told we’re not far off the total cost of ownership vs diesel generators so it’s a fair comparison. Assume also there will be more need for the smaller units, I would say 140 x 10kw, (£1m), 60 x 30kW, (£720k), and 20 x 50kw (£300k). That’s a hell of a lot of generators for AFC to produce in house especially when the most we’ve seen in any one photo is about 4 or 5.

How do you know it’s working nicely CN ? All we’ve been told is that it has been turned on. It could have been turned on and tripped a fuse for all we know.

Let’s just analyse this statement - ‘ AFC Energy is at the beginning of its growth curve now that sales are rolling out to Speedy Hire and TAMGO are actively promoting AFC Energy Hydrogen Generator systems.’

Firstly what does sales are rolling out to Speedy ? If head 🤡 means orders are being delivered to Speedy, there is no evidence whatsoever that Speedy are receiving deliveries.

Secondly, TAMGO are actively promoting AFC. Well, I agree they have the AFC systems on their website but considering TAMGO tweet daily I have yet to see them promote AFC on X so I would say it’s passive atm rather than actively promoting AFC unless head 🤡 can provide any evidence other than products listed on their website

No, as in previous fundraisers, funded by Bonds mates who are given huge discounts and have either already forward sold or who are currently offloading.

How is AFC being funded you absolute melt ?

I’m not sure why the fundraiser was claimed to be for fast tracking delivery to Speedy when they already had more than enough cash in the bank, I can’t see how this fundraiser speeds things up

We don’t need a larger order book when we can’t even deliver on the £27m order book we already supposedly have.

Speedy placed an initial order for £2m, that was before the Amey announcement, so why haven’t they placed a further order to service the Amey contract ? Maybe because they haven’t received anything yet from the initial order. I feel Bond is at serious risk of screwing up yet another opportunity in a long line of previous screwed up opportunities.

Amey enters into long-term deal for ‘eco-products’

Equipment rental specialist Speedy Hire has signed a long-term agreement with Amey Group Services to provide non-operated plant.

The hire and solutions contract is worth up to £25m annually, Cheshire-based Speedy Hire announced yesterday.

A company spokesman said the duration of the deal could not be disclosed.

The firm said it was chosen for its sustainability credentials and “commercially sustainable eco-products”, which align with Amey’s environmental, sustainability and governance framework.

Plant for Amey will include H-Power Generators from Speedy Hydrogen Solutions — a 50:50 joint venture between Speedy and Surrey-based AFC Energy — and battery storage units (pictured) from Green Power Hire.

The spokesperson added that these “two relatively new products to market” will be joined by other non-operated plant such as a hydrogen-powered access platform from Speedy Hire and Niftylift.

Speedy Hire added that its contract with Amey will come into effect in the second half of its financial year, ending 31 March 2024.

Amey chief operating officer John Faulkner said the multi-year deal “signifies a strategic alliance between Amey and Speedy Hire in our common goals to play a critical role in protecting the natural environment while accelerating the UK’s transition to net zero”.

The Amey deal forms part of Speedy Hire’s five-year Velocity growth and business transformation strategy, said the latter’s chief executive Dan Evans.

Launched in July 2023, the strategy is designed to result in annual revenue of £650m by the end of its 2028 financial year.

This would mark an almost 50 per cent increase on Speedy Hire’s 2023 turnover of £440.6m.

The way Bond talks about the ammonia cracker you’d think it was the holy grail…oh wait…

I’d love to know who the industry expert was who claimed it was worth more than the current Mcap of AFC, probably Bonds mum.

Have you seen the type of deals Bond negotiates ? He gives large chunks of the company away at huge discounts, he does deals and then slashes the price in half AND gives customers free shares, if the ammonia cracker business was sold Bond would probably end up paying them for every kg if hydrogen cracked 😂

Ffs CN are you really that dumb ? Yes we all know new products need testing but I’ve never seen a company announce it has delivered a new product when it hasn’t delivered it !!!

CN, what bit about the 200kw don’t you understand ? They have just turned on a prototype - that is what it says in the RNS, the headline is misleading saying 200kw system delivered. It will be years before the final version is being mass produced. Look at the comment below about delivery to Speedy, announced in November as happening before year end and still not delivered. This is typical of the delays we face with AFC despite years of fundraisers to “accelerate” go to market, manufacturing etc. the ammonia cracker even by AFCs admission is some time next year, and that will be turning on a prototype as well. Based on previous delays and non delivery do you still believe the timescales Bond tells you about the ammonia cracker ?

Clearly not going to happen this financial year when they haven’t even had delivery of the first order. And no orders from any other customers whatsoever, something clearly wrong. The hydrogen refuelling truck was another waste of money, just devaluing daily sat in the car park with nothing in the field to refuel. Please Bond just leave.

He won’t get away with it when the interims are released end of this month showing zero revenue unless once again they come up with some clever wording like the £27m of committed and uncommitted orders.
