Its just human nature to compete, try and look prettier smarter more wealthy or clever than the next one, and we all do this to some way or another trying to come out on top of the next man/race/country/footy team. Humans make their own lives harder and more stressfull by inventing more and more ways to compete, rather than concentrate on keeping things simple friendly and mutually benifical. if mikey,who is in the 'know' afterall suspected this would happen, id imagine that RYA would have kept their cash from all the recent buybacks back to have reduced the shares in circulation at a considerably reduced cost later on?

This would have given two major advantages, more shares bought back for less and a means to hold up the share price if it went into free fall, with us poor UK passport only holders being robbed of our investment as penance for choosing our own destiny.

Mikey has certainly touted the 'issues' of brexit as he see's them vocally enough, he's clearly got a political viewpoint and leaning, and whilst isnt a dummy, far from it, he's using his 'position' to further his beliefs.
