this news on Dudley concerns me a little, he's been a bloody good captain for BP since the spill, not many top bods him around unfortunately. Personally, i think it wont make a lot of difference to the sp though, Dudleys done all the hard work and set up a nice lean company.

gents, IMB, I know nothing about them or their divi policy or their business (killing people for profit you could argue?) but if not making enough cash their divi could be cut, just like Glenda/cna etc, or like Rdsb did a few years back (Kie currently) massive debt could be taken on to maintain payment at the longer term detriment to the business (which is not flavour of the month at the moment) A few to spread risk in a big portfolio maybe a plan but i would be cautious in bunging in a big wedge. Just my thoughts lads, appreciate we're all of various different minds.

12 tonnes is a hell of a lot when its dropped off on the drive and it all needs splitting/shifting, looks a lot less come Febuary mind :)

Good way of keeping fit and getting rid of frustration is a wood fire. we use 12 tonnes a year in 'dt towers', its the main heat source, previously all hand split by yours truly until i succumed to a hydraulic splitter a couple of years back.

i think Glen will come back in the longer term so money is safe, but the idea was to be in andout rather than hold them for years.

yes Billy, i dont mind holding shares that are underperforming, im a lth normally, provid8ng they pay a reliable divi, its why i hold lots of oillies. With Glencore i like their method of paying divis by 'return of capital' as they dont count against the £2k divi limit, but against your GC instead. What concerns me is what concerns you. What if Ivan cancels the 'divi' again ?

i work in the water industry (30 years) and work closly with Kiers everyday on one of the current amp contracts. I see it daily and am closely involved with all from the coal face right upto top level county based magaement, and trust me, there is no high margin work at all. Materials are not the biggest expense, its labour, you have that the wrong way around, and plant costs training and employee tickets are quite considerable as well. Best and most helpful contractors ive ever worked with however, and ive worked with a few.

even the militant mulahs aint daft enough to gob off while in the USA, they will return to type and wait till they can hide in a dusty cave somewhere then discover their bravery :)
