Couldnt agree with you more on the social distancing Ken, nobody seems to give a hoot anymore and think this thing has just vanished, wait till people they know start to succum and they may just change their minds. Theres just no accounting for peoples stupidity or ignorance realy.
As for the oil point, i think Looney is a Loony tbh. The current oil survival agenda is being hyped in my opinion as its 'trendy' to be a Greta fan, Looney is on the band wagon playing the hero convert. I dont see the growing developing worlds oil demand going anywhere other than up for cost reasons. nobody i know has an electric vehicle, rather most i know who have bought a new car have gone for thirstier big petrol engineed things like Range Rover and BMW's that actually consume more fuel, and poorer people cant afford the capital outlay for an EV, so keep using cost effective older cars of which there are lots to get through easily avaliable. As for my industry there is no way we could use electric vehicles with all the equipment thats needed, all vehicles are right on their weight limits and batteries would only mean we'd need to replace each single vehicle with two and that isnt going to happen. I also think airtravel will increase past precovid levels in the future, we all like to travel and that wont change over time, people always seek what they like, whether thats over priced trainers, fast cars, bigger houses, more holidays etc.
Time will tell on that one i suppose. Getting bloody busy down here with flocks of tourists. At least the chip eating skinny seaguls will be happy.
