Its very odd that the company doesnt disclose how 'successful' the subscription model returns take up actually is.

I suspect an awful lot of returns and associated costs are hidden in the scheme, hence the lack of clarity of subscription numbers.

Simply, if your paying £9.99 for free returns - you ARE going to use it, again and again and again.

To suggesr otherwise is plain dumb.

So nothing whatsoever in the odious ones article to dispute the 41% 'wouldnt buy without free returns' US figure then?

Of course they are not 'free' if paying a subscription per se, and of course costs get loaded onto the purchase price for others anyway.

But would be interesting to see the confirmed subscription take up numbers direct from the horses mouth.

Seems our cousins across the pond also frown at the thought of buying online if forced to pay to return anything they dont want/like/fit. 41% who go elsewhere is quite the % of non- shoppers to put off.

A possible response to the many returns coming back into the warehouse is to whack up the charges passed onto the customers when they send back.

Of course that will then affect the sales in the first place, or people will order less delivieries, just many more items, and pay proportionally a smaller return cost per item.

either way its a ongoing problem that aint going to be getting any easier.

As for coal, im about as big a 'greenie' as you could get, but theres a good few years left in coal yet, and if the west aint burning it the southern hemisphere will be relying on (and increasing its use) it for years yet.
