There are intangible assets in the balance sheet, yes there are, where else do you think Research and Development go? thats why there one of the leading companies in the fields they are in. If you want to find IED's that are very carefully buried and disguised and contain NO metal parts then you need some seriously good kit. The divi should really have been trimmed in my opinion due to general economic situation, there have been 2 profit warnings reducing anticpated profit, it does however still leave us making a good profit ! CEO has departed Carlyle i presume didnt want him these provided 3 dents in the share price, Romney not getting elected makes bombing Iran less likely so that was it for them they wanted CHG cheap last dent in the price ! We long term investors in CHG now have to wait for this to climb back to £3.30 ish, i am sure this will get there or close to it, what has happened is a typical market overreaction Investec are still holding and i have topped up. I dont know looks pretty strange i must admit and you would have thought that the price would have slid somewhat ! The only thing i can think of is there use to be something called bread and breakfasting, not sure if it is still allowed by HMRC, if you come to the end of a financial year and have made too much but have a paper loss your sitting on, you sell them cyrstallize the loss, then buy back straight away. loss can be offset against the proffits, you still have your shares which hopefully you would have bought back for the same price pretty much as the sale price. It would be interesting to know if you can still get away with that, somebody on the board would know I could however be completeley wrong

I have to say i agree with your point of view, this is a hiccup but nothing more than one would expect with the nature of what is being manufactured and indeed with the level of upheaval we have seen in certain geographies. Personally i think it is a way of softening is up for a lower offer, nothing more. I sold out of Rio yesterday and topped up at 2.62 wondering whether i should have bought more......

I wouldnt wish to guess which way the case will go, if it was an easy one it would already have been sorted hopefully it will go our way, then we just have to decide what to spend $400m on, if i was a shorter on HOIL i would be starting to loose sleep

I finally have some funds released to purchase in to the company, i see they are going to give 10p a share back to investors, when is the cut off date for this? I dont want to by high then see div given and sp drop 2 days after i buy......

Yes Bert i managed to bail at 52p may come back in later but concerned at the way the price keeps dropping you wonder where it will stop

This is a profitable company with a last 5yrs growing turnover and profit, underlying earnings 39.4p a share a divi of 14.8p so why is the SP falling off a cliff?
