It's all down to how often they are traded. It sounds like you've already experienced the problem, you can find the market makers drop the price as soon as you try to sell, particularly if you have a large holding. Both OVG and AKI are illiquid, they have a small turnover of shares, therefore I'd have to find a strong reason to invest in either. In the case of AKI I have personal reasons, a keen interest in what they do, and I think they have great potential. I look at OVG and I see one of those email scams, plugging a company with virtually no share trading. That said, the OVG report claiming that one of its investments is 'a project capable of transforming the company into a globally significant silver producer within the next 30 months' may well cause a few investors to take an interest. I view OVG with caution. A 'sustainted' (i'e' not just a couple of days) increase in the level of trading might improve the outlook though.

Or lack of it. The 36p trades are for quite large sells. Given that there was just one trade in AKI the whole of last week (!) then any large sell will be at a discount. Surprised to see these languishing at this level though.

The supposed bid is dragging on and on. There does seem to be some support to the SP at about 60p though. Back in yesterday at 61p. Last time I was in at this level (a month ago) they hit 70p within a week.

46 buy trades and 10 sell trades in ERX today. Share Price up 24%. Shame about the ridiculous spread (quoted at 14% but dealing at less). No news release though, so presumably buying ahead of the payment details.

For every 75 shares you own you get 1 new share or You get 1 new share for every 75 you own. The actual release read as follows, which is why I quoted it that way round: The consolidation of the share capital will result in every 75 ordinary shares with a nominal value of 0.2 pence each in the capital of the Company being consolidated into 1 new ordinary share with a nominal value of 15 pence each. 75 consolidated into 1 or 1 for every 75. Take your pick. I still won't buy any ;)

The consolidation was 75 for 1. Tha means at close prices yesterday they were bid 37.5p and offer 56.25p, although the trades were somewhat narrower. Mid was 46.875p. Today they are bid 45p offer 49p, mid 47p. Up a fraction. Earlier on today they were substatially lower though, 35-40p. From what I can see, slanderous or otherwise, this company looks a bit of a dog, losing almost as much money as it turns over, and making cash calls on the market to keeps itself afloat.

When you have the likes of a non profit making YouTube being bought for $1.6bn (was that the figure?) then any company with good expansion plans will court interest. I think the same is true of OXS, and doubtless lots of other companies. The might be a pharma company out there with a keen eye...

Aweful lot of buying on this mornings news and the shares have romped up by over 30% today. However the spread is stratospheric which is discouraging sellers I think. Probably a bit late for a punt now, but anyone in first thing this morning or yesterday is doing well.

Eirx Therapeutics was 0.02 firmer at 0.26, amid talk of a cancer treatment deal with a US company that could provide a boost to revenues. Gossips talk of a potential sum of 18 mln usd (9.6 mln stg), well above Eirx's 7.0 mln stg market captalisation.

Static share price then, since that rise a week ago. I'm sure that this is down to a complete lack of news on the bid front. Usually shares tend to drift lower at this stage, but they look to be holding up quite well. They remain a hold in my opinion.

I can think of two good things to say about FEP: 1) Most trades are on a fairly small spread 2) I own some Point 1 means a healthy market, and generally more buyers than sellers despite the share price. Point 2, erm, well I bought too early for sure, but I have plenty of confidence in their recovery.

Hello all, Turkey calling. It's started raining today and having exhausted myself in the gym and an hour and a half of archery I decided to check out the internet cafe. Took a quick look through the share chats, I see despondency abounds, ULT, OXS, etc (most of the usual suspects in fact) are in the doldrums. Expect to see a few nervous types jumping from 20th floor windows on my return :) Nice to see MOB doing well though. Someone give it a push for me into the mid 70s please, so on my return next week I can make a nice closing profit. And feel free to berate me from switching from EME to FEP, that was a poor decision, in the short term and least. Assuming MOB holds up I'll not be out of pocket though.

Ah the sweet delight of hindsight... If anyone's been wathing Asia Energy they'll have noticed that the shares came back from suspension today. And what a seesaw ride, from 80p just after 08:00 to over 155p at 10:00 and back down to 107p now. At the end of August the shares were suspended following the Bangladesh government's decision to cancel the AEN plan to build a $1.4bn open-pit coal mine. However AEN has received no formal notification of any changes to the contract, and requested trading in it's shares resume. Lots of profits made by some today methinks.

I suspect it's just short term traders. The results were pretty good and despite the knock from China things are looking brighter there too. For once I really do feel that these are underpriced and am in this afternoon at 60p. They're at 20% of where they were 6 months ago, the capitalisation is a mere £36m and the P/E is just (gulp) 3.2! Net Asset Value is listed at £97m. Ignoring a possible bid, with China turning the corner as far as regulatory bad news is concerned these are a steal at anything below a pound in my humble opinion.

That's a fair point and I have little doubt that's why Maverick bought out good ol' Muffin. Whether they can make a viable business out of a 60 year old wooden horse in our technological age is another matter.

1-3 trades a day, turnover for 6 months up 17.5% to £179K, Loss of £141K. In July they raised £228K with a placing of shares at 0.15p, with a placing in May that raiing £114K at 0.2p. The main claim to fame is the recent purchase of Muffin the Mule, which appears to be almost their only target for future growth and profits. Any further cash call may well be discounted further. Assets of £1.1M, Cap £1.6M at SP of 0.18p. My opinion? Avoid.

If you read the report, the 3.5tcf of gas is the proven reserve, the reports suggests that the block could have as much as 20tcf. Now that is a lot of gas... From their release: Seismic survey on the block, located off the north-west coast of Palawan island, revealed that potential reserves of the site could reach up to 20 tcf, added Forum, which holds a 100 pct stake on the block. If yours shares have just risen by 100% or 150% there's a good chance you'll sell some or all of them. Many of the peeps buying up to 160p are pure speculators, and bail on any signs of the SP falling. I'm into these at 120p, not time to panic sell just yet.

For once I'm in agreement with the hype. MOB currently capitalised at around £40m. For for the 6 months to 30th June EPS was 10.7p, turnover £53m, net assets (including goodwill) of £134m. These should be worth well over a pound, and a lot more to a bidder I'd have thought. I expect to see these up in the short to medium term and am buying.

These were at 0.47p when the drug trials came out a couple of weeks back, this morning down again at 0.22p-0.27p Fast tracked? Maybe, but not up (not yet anyway). Hope no one went in heavy...
