Sincerely hope your right, but what caused this was what was in people's minds, you can't take pictures of that, but clearly there was a lot of anger to make them act like that. I sincerely doubt that anger as gone, or been improved by death and injury.

I still think it will make people stop and think before they bid, it's another factor to be assessed, that will need time, and again, imo means less urgency re buy back. Which seems to be dividing opinion anyway, personally I would rather see that money reinvested in the company.

They were already throwing rocks, and apparently were armed when the army was called in, and that's what kept the mine going, 300 national guards. Now you either think potential buyers are going to see that as a plus, or a minus, I'm going for a minus. This in my opinion means less urgency for a share buy back,as potential buyers are likely to be looking at the situation, rather than signing cheques.

Not sure I agree hummingbird as become are more attractive takeover target since the security incident, more a watch and see how things go situation now.

Let me ask you the question straight, do you think you can judge the security issues, just by what's happening on site?

All I'm saying is, security isn't what you can see on the site, it's what you can't see in the villages and communities, easy to Bury your head to that, but naive to think some won't want revenge.

The point people seem to be missing is that hummingbird will never know how secure they are, they don't know what threats might now exist, but the idea people will just allow themselves to loose their traditional way of earning money, and get shot to boot, without wanting someone from of revenge seems highly unlikely. Lots of troublemakers up north, incidents like this are a gift to them, and it's a distinct possibility a couple of them are going to head south to stir things up. Highly unlikely they will inform the bod of their plans.

Morning all back from my hols, unfortunately you can never say when this incident is finished, that's the problem. Rather like the coilition declaring the second gulf War over after they entered Baghdad, of course in fact it was just the start of their troubles. We can never know if act's of revenge are being planned, or if the workforce is being intimidated, according to a posting on Advin, some have already left their jobs, the local villages didn't sign up for people getting shot, who knows how they feel now, in my opinion this security issue can only be contained, not sure it will go away.

No its not easy, but that's not an excuse for taking a little profit and risking it, lack of courage won't increase wealth, we keep being told this is the best thing on aim, we are not, for over 12 months fevertree for one have out performed hummingbird, and paid dividends to boot, I've invested a little profit from hum, both were in profit, now only one, the one I'm making a loss on is now in my opinion the most exciting prospect around, however I don't expect a garauntee, if you look how few trades happen daily with hummingbird, it says lack of interest to me, that should alter, but when? Everyone must choose there own strategy, and some people have more time to be patient than others, I just don't see doing nothing as the best thing, certainly not in my case.

I've taken a couple of punts already, sincerely hope I'm wrong and FJS is right, the other money making possibility here is a takeover, mixed feelings about that, I'd rather make money through sp growth, but a takeover offers a good profit, I certainly can't see me investing more here, I have mentioned, a couple I think have become more exciting opportunities, also, something I read on the share hub, sticks in my mind, which said hummingbird could have made its money last year, pretty much everything fjs should be true, logically he should be entirely right, but I think other things are happening here, basically aimed at a lower price takeover.

That's a very honest post, and a fair point, however from around, September, October last year, it seemed unlikely, this was going to be allowed over 40p, the warning signs were out that early, that's why I made a more modest prediction for end of year sp, and to be honest, I can't see it being anything special by the end of this year.

Sorry fjs, but you and the like caused this wager business, by making accusations of a pathetically dumb nature, the argument being, if we sing a slightly different tune about a company we all admire, and in my case suggest a different investment strategy we are trolls and not really invested here, basically I'm happy to shut up about wagers, if people are happy to stop calling me a liar, so I repeat, to everyone, stop calling me a liar, or put your money where your mouth is.

As stated, my £10000 is there as a wager for anyone who doubts I'm a shareholder, wish someone would have the guts to take me up on it, or the decency to stop making accusations.
