1ontheup: appreciate the reply to my earlier post. What you say makes a lot of sense. I first purchased MKS stock when I visited the superstore in Southampton, Hedge End in 2021. I was blown away with how much they had done to the store. My first purchase was at £1.67 in Sept 2021. Although I view myself as a LTH, I sold all the shares in January 2022 and didn’t repurchase until March 2023 and I have been adding since that date .
I view M & S as a national treasure and I believe that if the share price fell dramatically, it might be subject to an opportunistic bid. I think the share price would need to be much lower than where it is now and I cannot see this happening, given the trading performance so far.
The cyber attack has changed my view a little, but M & S have an excellent management team and to date, have been delivering good results. Of course this could all change if the company was culpable for the hacking incident. I purchased sone more shares this week.
I definitely think that by waiting, you have called this correctly but any announcement, putting the hacking incident to bed is likely to bring about a sharp uptick the share price. The impact of the hacking is share price sensitive, as is its resolution. If M & S have news on this front, I believe they are obligated under stock exchange rules to announce it via RNS.
