FWS78: Have a look at the RR ADVFM site. It lists the after close trades as buys & sells. You will need to register first though. There seem to be some substantial buys.

Just received an email this evening confirming that new auditors (PriceWaterhouse Coopers) have been appointed as auditors for the company and its subsidiaries. This appointment is to be confirmed by shareholders at the forthcoming AGM.

BDO has subsequently resigned as auditor.

This letter has been sent to all shareholders

No doubt RNS will confirm tomorrow morning

Falky: Are you using derivatives like a CFD when you trade your shares?

I believe that Nick Mather has let down private shareholders badly. I wrote to him a few months ago to let him know how I felt. Received a quite asinine reply which I posted on this BB at the time.

He controls too much of what is happening at SOLG and I believe he is the source of many of the problems we face. I accept he has a very large shareholding and has much more “skin in the game” than most directors of any large company.

I am only buoyed by the fact that the directors have to get the share price up from 25p or face the fury of the shareholders at the AGM. Talking of which, if they want to hold the meeting on 17th December, they will have to send out the notices by 26th November.

Carrington: I believe that the MM’s were just trying to shake out a few early and weak sellers on the back of one or two of the cautious remarks made in the Next trading statement. It wasn’t very successful. M&S and Next are different companies really. We are in our ascendancy post Covid. Next business model has remained pretty constant throughout the pandemic and its share price has gone from strength to strength.

Solg has to deliver on a fair number of items prior to the AGM, for which they are required to give 21 days notice. I can’t see it being held this year because of the huge amount of work and communication they need to do to pacify shareholders. They also need to lift the share price. There was some talk of the AGM being held on 17th December but this has not been confirmed nor denied by the company. No surprise there!

This company has really been a communications disaster. All this talk of corporate governance yet no evidence of it being put into practice.

We are sitting on huge assets which need to be turned into cash. I don’t believe the current management will be able to take the company into production. If we could get a big hitting CEO, it may all change, but no one in their right mind would want to take on this business as matters stand. I cannot understand why, with the share price so low, that we haven’t received an offer from a third party mining conglomerate.

Not sure it is for shareholders to find out the date of the AGM from press articles. Just shows how fast & loose the management are prepared to play with its shareholders - and the extent to which the much lauded corporate governance is not working.

In todays Saturday Telegraph is an interesting article in a section of the paper titled “fund of the week” about how Baillie Gifford have bought M&S shares. The article is headed “Amazon’s best days are over but M&S is on the up”

Some investors see M&S as a tired business, but we think the management team is addressing a lot of its issues. There are early signs that the business might be turning around and the new joint venture with Ocado is a really exciting opportunity to grow its online food offering.

cw1966: To illustrate your well made point - as at 16.40, BUYS were 17M against SELLS of 6.8M. It really is difficult to see how the share price can be manipulated downwards against this buying demand - but it has been.

The daily swings are a day traders dream. With all the news that RR has in the pipeline, it could equally move upwards. I think the bottom can’t be very far away. As many people on this BB have said before, just lock away and try not to look at the price too frequently

Metom: Not sure you are cut out for investing in shares. Look at the BB’s of AWE & DARK and think how some of the shareholders there must be feeling after the last weeks’s share drops.

No date yet set for the AGM. The share price will need to improve before it is held as I can see problems - and not just from private investors. I see NM as a problem for any new CEO, hence the problems with appointing someone.. It wouldn’t surprise me if the AGM was held in 2022 to allow some time to get this and other matters sorted to allow a more peaceful meeting.

Red: You are all over the place with this share. Not sure I quite understand why, even though you have 40K invested, you harbour negative thoughts about RR. I would be inclined to concern myself more on the subject of your CGT liability on the 100K initial trade.

FREEBEEUSER: - perhaps in line for the most naive comment of the day. Interest rates are commented upon very regularly now in the media. When they come they will be small -perhaps having little immediate impact. Why do you think that the first interest rate rise - probably in December is not already priced into the market?

Metom: This is good news and there will be more to follow. RR Is stuck in a temporary downtrend with MM’s able to move the price down to take out a few stop losses. They know that eventually, with all the other positive parts of RR’s business looking encouraging, that the share will move upwards. They are just holding it down whilst holders are nervous following 5 days of falls, to pick up some cheap shares.

Jonny: There are merits to both our views. However, we are discussing this reinvestment with the benefit of hindsight which is always much easier to do. I am also invested here at a higher average than yourself but am happy to leave the investment for a few years to mature, as the business changes substantially.
