The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
The union are a bunch of muppets. This strike vote should have been watertight, but the arses aren't capable it seems of even making sure of that. I was a member of the union until the recent Labour leadership contest, when the CWU gave their backing to Jeremy Corbyn, whom I consider to be extremely dangerous because of his unilateralist nuclear disarmament views. Now that they have to go through mediation, if that doesn't settle anything presumably there will need to be another strike ballot to get a legal strike. What a waste of time and money, I am glad that I am no longer paying these incompetents union fees.
An article in the NYT says that Poland may in the next few years be the next country to be counted as being a wealthy economy by the IMF. If it's true then it can only help DPP to sell more pizzas, which would be nice. The article can be found at https://www.nytimes.com/2017/07/05/opinion/poland-economy-trump-russia.html. Dave
Now have 46 stores, should hopefully easily get to 50 by the year end. Opole is a city of approximately 128 000 inhabitants in the west of Poland. Hope that the trading update shows everything is on track. Dave
The 2 new ones are in Lublin (population of approx 350 000) and Rzeszow with approx 187 000 inhabitants. Think it is going to take a while before we see 60p again but we will get there and way beyond, it will just take time. I'm still firmly of the opinion that DPP are a great share for the future.
The first day of dealings on AIM was 18th March 2016, so how did you invest in January 2016?
You say today that you invested at £1.20, yet in a previous post on Jan 5th you wrote that you "looked at the sp in March but left it till Aug when I found out what I needed to know", which presumably means that was when you initially invested. By August the sp was a minimum of £1.47. So which price did you actually invest at? Also if you believe the sp is going to go much higher than £10.50, why sell at that price?
You must be holding quite a few shares then.
I don't know if anyone else has signed up for email updates on the DPP website, but when we had the store performance update in February, I got an email the night before with all the relevant information that was released the following morning. I'm hoping the same will occur either tonight or over the weekend. Anyway I hope everyone has a good weekend and that the RNS on Monday is a good one (I'll be surprised if it isn't). Dave
I've also had a top up, couldn't resist at this level. Just had a look at the number of buys against sells and it's about 50:50, not as shown on the DPP main page here as lots more sells than buys. Someone can't add up properly. Dave
Hargreave Hale has ben selling some shares lately, that is probably why. But people buy shares and they also sell them, nothing to worry about in my opinion, I am still of the belief that DPP is one of the best investments long term which is what I am holding for. Dave
You're right it is 39, as you mentioned the one in Pruskow has closed. It would help if I looked properly. I think that my estimate of 60-65 stores by the year end was a little ambitious, I now think it will be somewhere between 50 and 55. Only time will tell. Despite today's drop I'm still of the belief that DPP is a long term hold (5-10 years), at least until the original 15 year Master Franchise Agreement runs out. I don't think that my money would be better used elsewhere in the long run. Dave
How's that healthy profit doing now?
Hi Polsk, I think it is 40 as the Polish consumer site is showing 17 stores in Warsaw, as opposed to only 16 being shown on the store locator map on the DPP site. That's what I meant when I thought that it isn't easy to figure out how many stores there actually are, the two different store locator maps aren't showing the same number of stores in the same locations. Dave
Well spotted, they don't make it easy for us to keep track of store numbers with some stores on one locator page but not on the other. I had a look on the Polish consumer site when I got in from work earlier this morning and the Kalisz site wasn't showing up. Now need to cross reference the two maps to keep up to date. 40 stores now and rising fast, would anyone care to estimate how many stores we'll have by the end of the year? I hope it will be somewhere approaching 65, well on the way to 100. Dave
I don't think there are many companies anywhere with prospects better than DPP, although I hope that those 2 chunky sells weren't by directors, having said that the SP has held up well considering. I think that your pricing of 1.5p per store for thd SP is probably a little high, my own would be 1-1.2p per store. I believe that you're also right about the speed at which we get to 100 stores. Dave
