You seem to have some difficulty grasping what upto 7 days mean. You are trying to make big deal out of nothing for some reason.

It could also be more than 7 days . It might be say 9/10 days but they've used 7 to leave a buffer so to speak.

It's still a massive improvement on 8 hrs as was.

I would imagine upto 7 days means it's still good on day 7. Day 8 it probably isn't. Quite simple that!

Especially so after the latest development confirming the stability of EDTA samples now stretching to 7 days. Why would you pay $20 ( two test tubes) for a blood sample when you can pay $1..? Also they can get 4 attempts from the EDTA sample if something goes wrong and they need to do it again.

Yes excellent news. Stability increase to 7 days is impressive. A big hurdle overcome there imo.
