I fully expect there will be more than one test anyway.Going forward new technology will kick in too, so there could well be new and better products in a few months, we know they are out there. The govt want to be flexible and open to all the new stuff coming along. That is where Odx benefits as they will no doubt manufacture anything new that comes along, whilst old tech bites the dust. A bit like a rolling contract maybe for the manufacturer.

It means that right now Avactas or any other test under consideration hasn't cut the mustard yet. Manufacturing capacity being ramped up, hopefully one or even two tests can get the nod soon.

Why on earth is anyone comparing Ygen to Ncyt? Completely different outfits other than one product. Ygen is not a Covid stock, they produce very small quantities of a PCR product mainly as a hedge until we are out of all this.

They now have capacity for 20k plus a month but are/were only doing about a quarter of that because if lockdown.They have better products in Nipt and oncology going forward.

First mover advantage, in this instance proved priceless. Ncyt were in the right place etc. Ygen only had capacity for 10k a month so was only being used as a stopgap initially.They were messed around by the govt early doors so decided to just concentrate on the private sector.

Yourgene has nothing at all to do with Ncyt nowadays.Ygen make their own PCR test and supply many including Cignpost.
