Proposed Directors of Tirupati Graphite explain why they have requisitioned an GM. Watch the video here.
Okay, I'll comment on this Origin Contest.
Honest to goodness, Origin is stumped by 700m CBM wells? Thousands of CBM wells in the World and it's pretty rote stuff. So, giving Origin a little credit for being able to research and source pumps for CBMs, I wonder if they are searching for a smart guy to guide them in the Beetaloo.
Competition Overview
Welcome to this Origin challenge in partnership with Unearthed!
Origin are seeking predictive models to help inform their decision of pumps to install in a failed coal seam gas (CSG) well. Wells often fail due to a number of reason and will often need a pump to be replaced as part of a workover. This challenge focuses on the data points of Volumetric Capacity and the HR indicator, which will allow Origin to better determine what pump to install.
This challenge invites data scientists, data analysts, mathematicians, programmers, oil and gas engineers, and anyone with an in interest in data science to submit their model.
The Opportunity
Individuals and companies who participate in this challenge will have the opportunity to the following:
Gain exposure within Origin – Your proposed solution will be reviewed by Origin's judging panel which may include representatives from various teams within Origin.
Work on real data - Test your data science skills on a real world problem.
Win prize money and recognition - Following the review of top models, winners will be selected based on their score and prize money will be awarded. You and/or your company will also be profiled across Origin operations and the wider Unearthed community including other industry representatives.
New, in case you have any interest in the drama, the Reddit crowd, Wallstreetbets is jamming the shorts on GME after hours, stock has moved from $45 to $170 today.
Stebol, The main danger to my mind is Origin's corporate culture. They are are a low IQ utility provider where bureaucracy is the most loved product and committees driven by inclusiveness are the engines that pull the train. I'm afraid they won't change their clearly demonstrated lethargic behavior in the Beetaloo, and I'll breathe my last breath wondering when they are going to get the frac fluid out.
BUNCH OF THIEV'N PRICKS!!!!!!!!!!!
tsoprano1, The only CONCRETE knowledge the "Big Boys" have that we don't have is POQ's cell phone number. We are on equal footing---we all know ONE THING: No ONE has proved that the Beetaloo will produce economic flows. You can say the "Big Boys" are smart and have inside knowledge, but, you are just stringing yourself along. They don't know anymore than you.
Schlemiel, I don't know if I should rejoice or scream in frustration. I think 'll take the high road and rejoice. But, what the heck, they finally came to the realization that they needed an in house expert to direct the project instead of listening to people that they are paying gobs of money to keep on trying.......
In 3 or 4 years Origin will probably still be trying to figure out how to get the frac fluid out.
Super, I'm afraid you don't fully understand how a member of the BOD thinks. First off, they can list on their resume that they are a director of a public company, and the more companies that they can list the higher they charge for services in their other endeavors. Secondly, they get a nice pay check for around 5 days of work per year. Thirdly, if by some fluke of nature the company actually succeeds, then they can cash in their options for a big check. The only requirement to be a member of FOG's BOD is that you have to have lost your capacity for being embarrassed when others critique your performance.
new,
I find it hard to believe that any of the companies you mentioned (or any others except perhaps investment banks) would relish assuming a subservient position to Origin in the exploitation of the Beetaloo. So, it would seem the only path for FOG will be at the hands of Origin.
Origin,
Besides the lackadaisical tone displayed by Origin, what I find particular annoying is "The report, from Origin, is merely a formality in line with the NT's regulatory guidelines for reporting a discovery, Origin senior external affairs manager Chris Zipf says."

Long,
Hard to predict out a few years. I would suggest that we'll see more support for an increase in share price from the activity at Empire than we will from Origin. I'm just thrilled that we now have enough gas for BBQs.
New, this is going to take a LOT of lipstick....
schlemiel,
You are to admire their pluck in planning considering they have no idea if there is a significant exploitable resource there.
Long, it's my opinion that if a flare were burning, we would know, either from an increase in buy orders, a newspaper article by the greens, etc. It would certainly be significant at this point, and it would seem to be a share price moving event and FOG would have to comment on "the well is currently flaring".
Long,
"So I am assuming lift operations began before year end and if it takes 4-5 days, we should know something by now."
I think the obvious answer is we DO know something by now, via lack of announcement and share price upwards movement. It's just tough to accept for the faithful.
Oleo, I don't think you are giving enough weight to Origin's demonstrated and historical inability to do anything with alacrity.
Judging by trading action I'd guess they are conferencing when the best date to start back to work would be. Obviously they aren't flaring.
New,
I'll echo your sentiments and comment that I've just settled down for a pre Christmas brunch of grilled oysters wrapped in bacon with a bottle of Kirkland's finest French Champagne (which is actually Veuve Clicquot, (( just using non-estate grapes)).
So, Merry Christmas to All and wishing all a Happy 2021.
So, they can find farm out partners.....
Origin has announced a new farm-in agreement with Buru Energy to continue exploration on seven exploration permits covering 20,000km2 in the Canning Basin in north-west WA. As operator, Buru will start work on two wells and seismic in 2021 after the wet season.
Origin now has core acreage positions over three of the most prospective onshore basins in Australia – the Beetaloo, the Canning and the Cooper-Eromanga.
As action to combat climate change continues to accelerate globally, including customer-led demand for clean energy, in making this investment we have given strong consideration to the pathways that may be available to green the recovered gas resources over time, including offsets and CCS, to support Origin’s ongoing decarbonisation objectives.
Gas remains core to our strategy and the global and domestic energy mix. Demand for gas will grow, particularly in Asia where gas will play a key role in decarbonisation.
