tidd - I do disagree about online business. What I am talking about is where a store has surplus space not necessary for retail of SBRY own goods be they food or say clothes. The surplus spce then becomes dead space and even with dead space the online business can do zero to utilise that dead space,
Therefore create shells of shops to take up that space - lateral thinking. Then sublet the space to non competing businesses. Have you ever been in a Casino store in France? Had you, you might understand what I am talking about. The added bonus is cross collateral shopping, Need to go to a higher class ladies clothes shop within the precinct, why not do your supermarket shopping at the same time etc. The main point though is getting rental income from surplus space. Just as a JV with Land Securities for other space to be built on to create homes.
