The only two things that are critical with HUR are production and the PoO.

Surely the company can RNS or announce the monthly production figures on an "end-of-month' basis?

That will calm everybody down, diminish speculation, and keep the shareholder owners of the company informed.

Maths - There is not a problem with the CBs. They can be renegotiated , or new ones can be sought. This is peanuts money. Not a problem.

Old client. Yes, but only because the SP is so low. Down to his last few million. If it goes back above 20p , I guess he’ll trickle some more onto the market, if only just to pay for the mistress etc.,etc. He lives well, and thus incurs expenses beyond the imagination of mere mortals! Ha Ha!
I have written off this whole year, in terms of expenditure and hoping to enjoy holidays etc. I look at next year, as, and when.The world’s changed...I just hope Trump loses the election, and China can make trade and peace with the USA.

Britain dirtied HSBC’s name by forcing a hold on the golden dividend. I agree with much of what you say. Between a rock and a hard place.
But, if China becomes the geopolitical opponent of the west they’ll need a trading bank trusted by both sides. Financing trade is the core of HSBC’s business. Few understand the PRC better.

PP - Yes ! Money is their only God. I lived there for over 25 years, spoke Cantonese from the start, and finally worked there a a broker for Merrill Lynch. Went there first in 1946 . Father went for the Japanese surrender. He stayed 33 years. Wonderful place. Bright, hard-working, enterprising, flexible, and adaptable people. Those that come will be a benefit to the UK, unlike some I can't mention. I welcome them , all of them. HKBC should moved away from the UK, quickly chop-chop, as there Govt here will tax them forever, heavily. Half my savings are in HSBA(for divs) and I am feeling the pain of being 65% under water on the SP.

Why are directors not buying?

I have long held the opinion this share has been deliberately sold short by an algorithmic program set by a fund. Hedge, bank fund, private fund, or any such entity,. In the UK the shorting is legal. The destruction of a company by selling its shares down to nothing - thus everyone is unemployed - is immoral, and unbecoming conduct !
It's like the fundamentals, even TA, don't count in this game.
But, the city is a dirty jungle, with little, and toothless, regulation.
If you make money, you continue with the game.
If you lose, you are out.
