Yes @jimb2
"however there is a company (Ganfeng Lithium, a Chinese company that bought the shares of Bacanora Lithium) that had some exploratory work in a very small, very limited area"
Compared to Megalit, La Ventana is :-)
All very interesting!
@TC, from the JV participation agreements....
"Shareholder approval (from the holders of 2/3 of the issued shares) is required in certain
circumstances including on the issue or grant of rights in shares, borrowing, granting
security, sale or disposal of any of the REM JV1 Concessions."
President Andrés Manuel López Obrador announced this Monday that the Government will grant the first lithium concessions in its Administration to the state company Litio para México (LitioMx) on February 19, as part of its drive to the so-called Plan Sonora.
"We are going to go to La Ventana (a municipality in the state of Sonora), which is the lithium mine, where concessions are going to be delivered to a national company," López Obrador said at his daily press conference at the National Palace. .

MEXICO CITY -- Mexico’s president said Thursday the government is in talks to persuade companies that have started lithium mining projects in Mexico to give up their plans.
President Andrés Manuel López Obrador did not say what the talks involved or whether the companies would be offered compensation. But he made it clear that whatever they might be allowed to mine — or help the government mine — they wouldn't be permitted to produce lithium on their own.

PRIVATE SECTOR PARTICIPATION
Section VII of article 13 stands out in the decree, granting LitioMx the ability to “associate with other public and private institutions … to administer and control the activities necessary for the production, transformation and distribution of products derived from lithium.”
While this seems to leave the door open to private sector participation, questions remain over LitioMx’s involvement moving forward, particularly with respect to pre-existing private projects under development.
Delayed reaction to EMH's rise IMO....
