Pickler. Interesting. Noone disagrees that Fortune pulled off a masterstroke with this deal. Personally, I've been more disappointed with other aspects of the business (BE) and am not at all critical of the financial arrangements to pay Duferco. But I believe there has to be a seller here to account for the disconnect between an increasingly profitable business and a SP that stubbornly refuses to move up in response. Duferco sold to dip below the notifiable level of 3% and now don't have to notify of any disposal. Clever. And if it isnt them, who is it selling?

Pub. I did that before and every single one of them is down and gives me stick about it! OK, i was unlucky with the timing as was a couple of years ago and they ( and i) got caught in the spike.

Its the only explanation I can come up with although I agree that the difficulty some seem to have buying is odd. We've seen this pattern so many times before. And I dont understand why anyone would sell now- especially Duferco ( as I believe its them) as they know the V market cycle well.

JV. We all agree. What is your theory then as you don't think the facts fit the MMs taking advantage of a determined seller?

Unless Alfa says different, there are the 1.5m sells to balance the trading. My post on Saturday evening engendered some criticism, but it seems to me that if you have a persistent seller (s) who doesnt care about maximising their ROI and has instructed MMs to offload large volumes at well below what appears to be fair market value, the SP won't rise until that disposal is over whatever the news on V prices. Once seller done, its a different story.

Odd that you've interpreted it that way. I'm saying that whatever else happens short term with Eskom will ultimately be trumped by the simple mathematics of the commodity cycle. So, its going up. I just don't think Eskom is the key. Yet.

So many sure-fire bits of company making news have not shifted the SP at all: Mokopone/ Vanchem/ IES link and the time to buyout BMN was a year ago when Sp was 10p. No takers then.
For me movers;
1. Seller drying up- we have constantly had IIs selling at way below market value
2. V price rise
I dont think ESKOM wins will shift it more than 10% and I remain worried that even though BE is not priced in, the sc um MMs will drop it if we don't get any part of it. I wish I could be as optimistic as Libero et al, but the optimism I had about this has been drained over 2 years now of falling or static values. Eventually even a pure play V miner has to rise in the commodity cycle.

The continued failure of the SP to respond to the sustained rise in Vanadium prices becomes more and more difficult to understand. As does the assumed continued selling which doesn't make any sense at all.
