That RNS is using "success" to describe finding oil, and I get the impression EOG and i3e write no nonsense updates, so no word play, unlike one of my other holdings where its an art form

@Serif, That success case, is that successful completion of the well, no environmental impact rather than a discovery?

@tonynorstrom1, This fairly new to me, but originally we had consent for a mechanical side-track which is included with the consent to drill, to by-pass a problem..
Now we also have consent for a Geo Side-track which allows deviation from the original well, for whatever reason

Thats the impression I get ?

The CPR mentions that the Serenity wells would include Geo Side-tracks..but the liberator wells dont show any were applied for..

I see Geo Side-track consent for Serenity 13/32c-10, also granted late into drilling..
I have been searching for images of the 1st well, so far I only see a diagonal well, maybe the vertical bore is just not shown. So so far looks like it was side-tracked, and authorized late too :)
The side-track would be useful drilling down dip looking for the oil water contact...

The liberator wells have no consents shown for Geo Sides tracks, so maybe not a standard contingency then..

The question is can you get that consent through a phone call if the paper work is already in ;) more speculation :)

The standard permit only allows a mechanical side-track which is to by-pass issues.
The original screening doc mentions a Geological side-track would be contingent on success, not sure why it was'nt requested at the same time..
Interestingly a Geo side-track was also granted late into drilling for Serenity S1...

@Kev, PRD volume has dropped off, seems to running behind suggested schedule, expecting spud this month, but waiting on drilling permit announcement, no sign of drilling pad construction.. I believe there was the possibility of off-take agreement in advance, but thats now not until after testing.. So maybe an opportunity, good or bad ;)
