My local council, comical,
A few weeks ago they arranged a low loader to deliver a prefab building, and a crane to off-load it.. That failed as you needed all-terrain trucks or a good road surface into the construction site.. Crane was in position, while the low-loader gave up..
This Sunday they are going to deliver all the prefabs, so intend closing part of the road approaching the site, 6am-6pm,.. only issue is,,,, its a one-way system and the road closure starts part way along, so drivers won't know until the legal point of no return, lol
They sent a letter out with a map, to those living in the street.. Instead of highlighting on the map the length of road closed, and highlighting junctions it crosses and ends at( two of), the road closure is described in writing..It talks about an east-northeast facing section, while the road runs southeast-northwest, never the less most people don't have a clue to North never mind north-east. I think they are referring to which side of the road is closed, even though the whole road is closed as its one way.. Its a short road, once you enter the start of the closure(1st house) you can see the other end but they break the description into closed sections.. The start is referenced by "the lane that runs adjacent(thats behind) to house No 8", lane access is 1st house where the road closure sign is located . lol
Even though the road is closed they then go into loading/off-loading and waiting...... lol
You can only laugh..lol
There is a school in the street which is frequently used as parking for town events organised with the council, yet the residents of the street have not been given access, apparently health & safety reasons.. looks like local are too hap hazard to take the risk of supplying parking lol
