I've said on many occasions that edison and the likes were missing the facts, I maintain the view that analysts should give more forward looking reports, its a pointless exercise to assess only what is crystalised.As investors we have to buy shares on the basis of potential growth, we research, looking forward at possible potential, do risk/reward analysis, and include time factors for key indicators, all to give us decision. We then constantly review all aspects at key stages, eg 2.5tcf in dec differs from 2.5tcf in Aug with 300bcf bagged, differs from 2.5tcf(300bcf bagged) with more leads to tap from post drill analysis, (figures just plucked before anyone digs). Each of these moments offer differing risk/reward ratios, and we assess each stage for growth potential, to do it after the fact shows poor abilities, if not a complete lack of ability, and offers zero guidance merely a statement of fact. We do this as amateurs, because thats how we make money, if we followed edison, we would have already sold out!

The $1b figure was a target set by PW a long time ago, a lot of things have bore fruit since then. It is easy to see that under compression, Morocco could generate $100m+ pa, locked in 5 and 10 year take or pay contracts. Our producers in Egypt are $25 - 40m pa, and 2.5tcf with 300-500bcf in the bag changes perspectives. Yes Im forward looking with blue sky eyes, but as SDX develop and discover with self funded means, it gets harder to see at what point and price an offer would work. By the end of 2019, I expect we may have repeated drilling campaigns in both countries, with incomes allowing development at will, removing the usual reasons that small oilies sell, eg large debt or lack of funds to exploit. Our ability to take discoveries to market in very quick time is very unusual. The window of opportunity for a buyout is looking smaller, by year end 2018 the money coming in, along with the potentials that could generate, changes how an offer could benefit shareholder worth against accumulative value of holding off. Maybe I am daft, but it will be a very interesting ride, and I aint going cheap!

Samba is spot on, moving kelvin up is a major rethink, a hit here removes all risk in this drilling programme, still leaving 3 potential variable drills to target maximum production if the contingency drill is taken. IY was significant because what it revealed has changed the plan of attack, forget the flow rates and focus on the upgrade from SDX in reserves, which if Kelvin comes home could be much larger than the original 150bcf. The post drill work going on in both countries of operation will be frantic and focused, delivering clarity to future targets.
