Well it still shows the typo on the new presentation but does say 2nd DMS award at the side, so must be a typo:

The European parliament is set to vote on the new vehicle safety laws next Thursday 21st. Obviously this includes the ‘advanced distraction recognition’ first proposed last year. Could be a real game changer if it officially becomes EU law.
Legislation followed by some big oem wins should change a few perceptions of SEE.
"The Transport committee also voted in support of a wide-ranging package of new vehicle safety measures today. The update to the EU’s General Safety Regulation for motor vehicles was proposed by the European Commission in May and includes a number of new mandatory technologies such as Automated Emergency Braking (AEB) and an overridable form of Intelligent Speed Assistance (ISA), to help drivers keep within the speed limit. MEPs backed the proposals, though they requested an additional two years for Intelligent Speed Assistance systems to be made mandatory.
In a positive move, MEPs said that the new rules should be fast-tracked, with implementation to start two years after adoption of the rules, rather than the three years proposed by the European Commission."

2018 - "DMS technology validated by a further 4 automotive design wins" - I can only remember 3 announced this year?

So it appears we have a few rebel MEPs looking to make amendments, including a British MEP who wants to remove advanced distraction recognition altogether because she thinks that -
‘There is no reliable technology available to clearly indicate that a driver is being distracted. Enforcement via police controls, automated emergency braking, lane keeping systems and driver education should be considered as effective alternatives to address distraction of the driver occurring, for example, via the use of smartphone.”

Meeting in Brussels on Thursday. Looks like the measures have the backing of the automotive industry so hopefully ministers will give a positive response. Still a way to go but things could be looking very positive after Thursday.

"At LIV's core are deep learning algorithms that enable effective communication, including sensing driver gaze, emotion, cognitive load, drowsiness, hand position, posture and then fusing this information with data on the external environment to yield driving experiences that are not only safer, but feel that way, too."

These are the 8th and 9th models awarded to SE on this specific platform so no big surprise as it is just a continuation of the platform won when we were tied up with Takata. Once a tier 2 has won a specific platform it makes sense they will win further designs, producing a compounding effect as Seeing2020 points out.
Looking back at the initial graphic from the investor day presentation at the end of May, customer 8 (who we now assume to be our Chinese OEM) wasn't even on the bid list for DMS, yet was announced as a contract win at the end of July.

11 on bid list for DMS - 7 in technical qualification as well as the 2 awarded business so far.
"Paul Hansen is the most authoritative commentator on automotive electronics (30+yrs). @seeingmachines' entry in the Oct18 ed. matters-it raises awareness of SM at US investment houses & VCs in a way UK-authored broker notes simply cannot. Key moment here."
I hadn’t seen this before - http://www.drivermonitoring.com/
"Seeing Machines has signed an agreement with one customer and is in advanced discussions with a number of companies at the forefront of autonomous vehicle development."
Surely that is more worthy of an RNS than a workshop on aviation?
