Q: If Russia demanded the ouster of Frontera, why did it agree to keep him in Georgia? Has the Kremlin also made concessions to the West?
- The Kremlin has assessed well what would follow the expulsion of "Frontera". America understands well that Russia is behind this. Moscow would receive a very bitter response. They calculated the risks perfectly and started to expel "Frontera" from Georgia. A deal had already been struck somewhere in April - Frontera had sued Srchel from the Hague Arbitration Court, and the Russians would have allowed Ivanishvili to return the company to Georgia. If Frontera's contract was terminated, it would end very badly for Ivanishvili. Frontera demanded 3 billion in compensation from the Georgian government. If the arbitration court upheld this lawsuit, Tbilisi would have to pay 3 billion. Paying such an amount would turn Georgia upside down and Bidzina Ivanishvili would follow suit. That is why the deal was made and "Frontera" will stay in Georgia.
"Georgian Dream" is a party that is made and managed from the outside to the end. One of his main ideologues is Radikowski. Radikovski also participated in Lebed's election campaign, which was funded by Bidzina Ivanishvili.
The Georgian Dream was not a long-term political project. It became a kind of political intermezzo. It was the opinion of the Obama administration, and others agreed that it was impossible for Saakashvili to stay in power. His government had serious human rights abuses. Ivanishvili, as his spiritual father and sponsor, was asked to create an alternative force that would be a transitional government. Extraordinary elections were to be held in Georgia in 2014 - this would have created a qualitatively new political reality in our country.
Everyone was preparing for the snap elections, but something unforeseen happened - American-Russian cooperation collapsed. I am talking about the cooperation that was used to manage the current political processes in Georgia. As a result, we lost the "Georgian Dream".
Now a new cycle had to begin and a pandemic occurred which delayed some processes. As I say, Ivanishvili is a man of serious destiny. I do not know what else must be done to continue the rule of this man. Most likely, he will no longer be lucky now.
