Terminal sealed, oil seized - dispute between Frontera and state continues
Posted: 1 hour ago
The dispute between Frontera Resources and the Georgian government continues - after the company's relations with the Dream government were strained, investors left the country. The assets here were also transferred to the American investor and the company - Green Capital.
This decision made between the two investors was suspended by the court, "Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation". A few days ago, the raw materials obtained with the help of SUS and law enforcers were confiscated.
For reference, Frontera Eastern is no longer included in Frontera Resources, with 50-50 percent shares in Green Capital and the Georgian Gas and Oil Corporation.
Frontera Resources Georgia Corporation has already left Georgia through a settlement with Green Capital. [...]
Something unheard of is happening, we are not allowed to sell oil, gas, they have carried out some special operation there, they have sealed oil, wells. "The decision was made by the Enforcement Bureau, where the debtor is not indicated as a debtor at all," said Giorgi Kishmaria, a lawyer with Green Capital.
Zaza Mamulashvili, General Director of Frontera, says that changing shareholders is not a matter for the state at all. According to him, a few days ago, high-ranking officials, accompanied by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, went to the company's oil terminal, sealed it, and took the crude oil there into state reservoirs.
"Despite every law, every contract, every court decision that has entered into force, they do not have such a right, they practically stop the company's activities, completely illegally," he said.
The seized facility is located in Dedoplistskaro, which has been the operating unit of Frontera Eastern since the spring of 2021, with shareholder Green Capital.
The involvement of SUS in the case is of special interest. American investors are talking about injustice, which is sacrificing future investments from the West.
