Gutted!
What a nightmare, as you say it seems crazy to drag it out this far just to end now. You never know, maybe due to Finnish govt involvement we will secure the necessary cash flow just in time. Not sure who would invest as apart from a few study projects all we have are 'rights to a technology aimed at enhancing energy efficiency in the steel industry'. All we can do is continue to live in hope.
Oh, the irony..... Investing in this company has dragged us all through the manure and now manure could be what saves it!: Talvivaara wants to refine livestock manure into energy and fertilizers: "Significant economic opportunities": http://www.maaseuduntulevaisuus.fi/talous/talvivaara-haluaa-jalostaa-karjanlannan-energiaksi-ja-lannoitteiksi-merkitt%C3%A4v%C3%A4t-taloudelliset-mahdollisuudet-1.192795
bishoppepi - My thoughts, the company has been given 2 years to come up with some new profitable business ideas (any, not just within the mining industry) and raise required funds from the market and/or the shareholders whilst at the same time manage EUR 9,6 million worth of debt. It's a bit like a start up company that already has debt before it goes into business! So still very much a long shot but not impossible that one day we could see some/all of our investment come back to us.
Perhaps
Well well well indeed............
Well done mate
Time will tell mate. As we've both said before there is only a slim chance we will see any of our investment again but a slim chance is still a chance.
No one is suggesting Talvivaara is related to Terrafame. No one is suggesting it is still a mining company. I am suggesting that a shell company with shareholders can raise money from the shareholders to invest and maybe Talvivaara can do this and decide to invest in Terrafame. Not game over yet. Not finished yet.
Article dated 3rd Jan, Talvivaara looking for new business: http://www.talouselama.fi/uutiset/talvivaara-etsii-nyt-uusia-bisneksia-6612357 Article dated Saturday, Minister of Economic Affairs Mika Lintilä says Terrafame deal in the works : http://yle.fi/uutiset/osasto/news/minister_no_more_state_money_for_terrafame_mine/9429844 I continue to suggests the plan is for Talvivaara to raise funds and invest in Terrafame. Minister of Economic Affairs Mika Lintilä hinted that a deal is in the works, and more information will be available in two weeks' time. We shall see.
As I understand it, nothing happens to our shares except the diluting effect of up to 4 billion new shares being issued. But diluted shares are better than no shares. Does anyone have a different understanding of the situation? .
We do nothing Geek, up to 4 billion new shares will be made available to our creditors so add this to our current share total of 2,108,154,152 and the company share total may increase to 6,108,154,152 shares.
Yep not long now. As you said, interesting times ahead.....
I think you’re correct but do you think if Talvivaara has some good investment ideas/opportunities for the continued recovery then some could choose to keep the shares for the potential greater return? Something I hadn’t considered was the risk the Helsinki Stock Exchange could still delist the shares, hopefully they won't do that......
*Before the year is out
Yes, any more details would be great? We know one plan is to invest back into the mine and we will need to raise capital to do this, I think I'm right in saying we can't do this while suspended so although I believe trading will resume before the year I've heard nothing that can confirm this.
Thanks Geek, the English version link below. I'm positive Pekka/TALV is one of the 'possible external financiers'.... http://yle.fi/uutiset/osasto/news/government_pledges_100_million_euros_more_for_eastern_finland_mine/9288663
This article says the new technology involves recycling the metal smelting: http://www.kainuunsanomat.fi/kainuun-sanomat/kainuu/talvivaara-siirtyy-energiansaastoteknologian-pariin/
Another RNS mate 'Talvivaara has signed an agreement on the acquisition of energy saving technology' it's a bit vague but surely another positive step: http://www.talvivaara.com/media-en/Talvivaara_announcements/stock_exchange_releases/stock_exchange_release/t=talvivaara-has-signed-an/id=228412697
