The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
Well said Sound, that fairly encapsulates my view. I think all European countries stand more chance of surviving in the modern world if we stick together. Apart we'll just get picked off one by one by likes of China, India, Russia Brazil and the USA.. That's why Trump doesn't like the EU, it's too big to bully.
Happy Birthday mymy. With a bit of luck, when we eventually get the LE, the price will be well north of here and hopefully will prove something of a hedge against the tumbling pound if Brexit screws us all up. I assume we'll be priced in dollars.
Just as a matter of interest what would be the trigger that would force an RNS announcement on an offer? i.e if an exploratory approach were made to the board would that in itself result in an RNS or would it have to be a formal offer?
I have a suspicion that there are "agencies" waiting in the wings for evidence/confirmation of the basin model and they might be keen to get in early. Competition between two or more parties would obviously be good!
What's the odds on more news before the cc on Tuesday? Something to relieve the gloom possibly? Surely the management team aren't just going to talk about TE10 or their dreadful RNS - there's nothing new to say about that surely.
Thanks for that Exploration. She certainly seems desperately to want some big majors to get involved in the country. They want success and it's a pity about Sounds recent woes as these aren't encouraging. However, I think the government is so keen for success that they'll be wanting to facilitate in any way they can the on going drill programme and spin a good light on whatever discoveries we have or may make.
A very interesting post. The political situation in Morocco must influence the drill programme and attitude of government agencies to Sound. They would not want Sound to be a total failure because if they leave their project in the country on bad terms no one will want to ever invest in gas exploration in the region in the future. So I hope and suspect that whatever GSA is agreed it will be at least fair for the resources offered. Just speculation of course.
I feel a bit starved of info, no video plus how far are we towards SPUD. Also I don't really get where 25% chance of success comes from.
Simplistic thinking perhaps but since they seem able to change to 25% from 30% when the two drills (9 and 10) are unrelated Is this a pure guess? When they say 25% does that mean for TAGI and 25% for Paleo or is that a complete unknown?
The website has not been updated for a long time. The mood has crumbled over the last couple of month to the extent that all investor confidence has drained away.
I wonder what an investor presentation would look like for 2019? Are there any positive prospects for Sound or are we doomed on all fronts? A grim outlook.
BUT: We did not expect al three wells to be successful, we've had one (really dire) duster. Two drills to go SPUD TE 10 in a couple of weeks. 25% chance of success on each. GSA possibly? Book signing event? Have I forgotten anything.
It is difficult to decide what is more irritating here, gloom and doom over the share price or the personal abuse. We are where we are and the only thing that will change that is hard good news.
I think we should focus on the forthcoming TE 10 prospect.
How likely is it to encounter similar problems to TE 9 ? It's a completely unrelated play apparently. What is it about this particular site that makes it a good prospect? Has anyone anything to add to the Sound official info?
They are clearly trying to show the extent of the resource to a potential buyer as much as hit gas IMO.
Reflecting on the current debacle (I am hurting as much as any here).
There is a tremendous amount of anger here. But did everyone here expect all three drills to be successful? One duster does not mean all is lost surely - although I admit the string of dusters to date does not give one much confidence.
There must be a variety of outcomes possible. Are all of these catastrophic? Are there no silver linings however tenuous? Reading the posts here it sounds and feels like it.
Whilst I fully understand all the recriminations expressed here we are where we are.
What we really should be discussing is the outlook for the future and the possible outcomes for the company hereon in.
for EG: Would anyone like to speculate on the potential outcomes (in terms of) sp of :
1) GSA concluded but failure of drills?
2) TE 10 success? failure?
3) TE 11 success? failure?

There seem to be an awful lot of people out there that have amazingly little faith in the outcome of our drilling programme. It astonishes me that holders dump shares at these prices. They can't actually know anything unless they've got Inspector Clouseau up in a sand hill somewhere with a pair of binoculars. Have they a cunning plan? I'm mystified.
The answer to how did this country work pre Europe 73 is that it didn't - 3 day week, power cuts, strikes, industry beset by poor investment, poor design and awful management (British Leyland etc. need I say more!).
That's a very interesting example Lelo, thanks for that. It's certainly an impressively short time frame IMO. Lets hope Sound can a) Come up with the "bona fides" to tempt more than one interested party and b) Keep cool and patient through the negotiations - I'm confident they have the expertise to pull this off.
I would be very interested to know if anyone has knowledge of exploratory oil/gas companies being bought up by majors and what sort of premiums they paid. How common is it? Is that the way majors develop their businesses rather than in house? I'm sure some investors here must have some knowledge of past deals.
I've been in this share a long time and it's done well for me. I'm just waiting for three events that I think might move the share price to a higher level, 1) The acceptance by the Egyptians of Law 32/2014 as constitutional. 2) News of the development of a second mine. 3) Possible M&A activity. Any of these are possible this year I think. We just need patience, and boy do we long term holders have patience!
