It would help afc enormously IMO if the government got a grip on the economy. The state of the pound is worrying and there could well be a 1970s style "run". In one way afc shares are a hedge against loss of value for share holders because profits and value will rise in monetary terms (as opposed to true value) as the pound declines. However, the negative trading relations with our close neighbours and allies is very worrying and collaborations may be in damaged in unnecassary trade disputes. For the sake of all businesses and international traders will someone please sort this inept government out, and soon!

One reason for the lack of orders is the lack of pressure from the government to adopt a charging infrastructure. The government seems to be adopting a very lax attitude to the transformations necessary. Where's the urgency?

Whilst being far from a deramper, I have great faith in the company and it's technical ability or I wouldn't be here, I do find the erosion of the share price disconcerting to say the least. What worries me more than anything is the lack of any communication regarding orders. If the company was constrained due to NDAs etc. it could still, as I understand it, issue some notification that a certain number of orders to non specified customers had been received. That wouldn't break any rules surely. The lack of such a communication can only mean they haven't received any! The failure to inform shareholders of progress or lack of it is not good practice in my view.

All this stuff about saving on fuel costs by going EV is OK now is correct currently, but if they bring in Road Pricing it wont make any difference at all. It's just a temporary effect of the current tax structures.

I think a couple of articles in the financial press wouldn't go amis at this point. FT, CNBC, etc.

I think this is interesting, sorry if it's been posted before. Guardian today talking about ammonia use for air travel. Isn't this something AFC do???? I've not seen this suggested for planes....................

I was looking at the agenda for the COP26 event. Anyone care to speculate on which particular event might prompt an announcement by AFC or any of our partners.

I'm pretty confident that the US presentation will be a good time to announce the results of the ABB collaboration. One might hope for news on other matters before then but I will certainly be a tad upset if we don't get significant ABB/AFC news at that point.

In view of the imminent COP26 conference one would have thought that some of these parnership companies might like to showcase their green credentials with some tangiable orders for AFC kit. One might even have thought the government might want to move on from vacuous soundbites to show their concrete commitment in a similar fashion. British company, world leading technology, green as they get, what's not to like?

Whilst we treck accross the "no news" dessert, I was just wondering where the first order might come from. ABB looks favourite at the moment, Acciona are in the frame as are Mace. They seem to be the front runners and where most posters on this board seem to focus. However, I do wonder what happened to the other 47 leads (over 50 enquiries) and whether there might be another possible customer in the field. So, just for fun, anyone care to speculate on who might be the first order to appear in an RNS.

And lets not forget that although most RNSs for AFC come at 7am they do not control the news and an order could drop at any time of day and it could just be minutes, days, weeks or months away. We havn't heard of any production problems so I assume there will be a mountain of stored units rolling off the production line, stacked up outside the Dunsfold factory and possibly visible from the M25 pretty soon. Lots to look forward to though!

I totally agree, Duke. I don't see where AFC comes into this until we look at remote locations and possibly motorway services to provide emergency cover in the case of network failure. I also think that with any involvement of AFC to supply units to ABB they would have to release an RNS immediately. They cannot sit on news of an order.

If this has happened then a statement of confirmation (and even a few photos perhaps) should be made. Having an operating assembly plant is big news and surely price sensitive. So I can only assume there is a delay for some reason. I do have faith they will deliver but the tantalising propspect of news that never seems to actually drop is very frustrating as many on this site will attest.

It actually comes from "forecourt trader magazine" and I do believe 1/3 forecourt traders would want to install these machines given the nature of their work. It doesn't mean all businesses I think.
