That puts at that time no more than 29.9%. So to me, it’s stay within limits or a full bid.

28.06% at March, website says. So a little leeway and still conform with agreement and general rules. It’s possible they may have added without a need to notify I suppose, but with directors on the board it may be ‘proper’ to notify. I don’t know about that.

To finish, it is open to C D and R to buy a few more if they wanted to, without breaking their agreement. But if they did that now, the price would likely rocket.

This is a rerun of conversations had. Sig needed capital injection. And help from an active shareholder. As they pointed out, being acquired at a low price was an alternative. C D and R obliged for gain at 25/30p. Could have made an offer for the lot but one imagines IKO ( and others ) would not want to support that, for obvious reasons.
Therefore C D and R took what they could get. Could only be 30%. That remains in the absence of an offer.
To satisfy IKO, yes, 65p or so plus say a 40% premium.
CD and R busy at the moment in the sector with acquisitions through Wolseley.

In the interest of balance I should add that the update does not necessarily equate with increased market share - it is likely that whatever else, in my view, that the management has also proved adept at pricing and improved margin, despite or perhaps helped by product shortages.

It is impressive, and I prefer to think for the future it is further evidence of the success of early stages of the recovery plan. Price movement on an excellent update is contrary to logic today, the markets generally and those in the sector I watch. I wonder if there is something else in play.
