I suspect the listing may have been put back to following a MRE, which I thought was essential to list in a new market with the expected to date info when that happens, and probably as a means to raise should that be required as a result of Newmont decision.

This mothballing is in your imagination. As are full details of the JV. Actually, I am in the same boat as to JV specifics, but more around access to Telfer than thoughts about anything else.

Nothings changed. It is for Mr. Day to push on with the projects, get that MRE out as should have already happened. Leave Newcrest cracking on with H, whilst awaiting the senior partners to tell him what theyre up to.

We haven’t seen the JV. You are a windup. Why would Newmont, as business people with a reputation to keep, choose that road. It is all about the cash.

Should it not be covered in the JV, Ggp would have to go to law.

I don’t expect early decisions, but the spend on development continues, and Newmont inherit the JV. In my opinion, they will either divest or run it, to realise revenue one way or another.

On forward visibility it’s a mess. But we knew that when Newmont turned up.

i think there’s something somewhere about selling off substantial assets in company law requiring shareholder approval. but i leave it there. can’t be ****d. if it comes it comes.

He knows he doesn’t control that. The shareholders do. If somebody makes an offer which goes to value plus a premium, he can negotiate around it, but will have to put it to shareholders.

They can only mess about with the MRE for so long. Goodness knows they’ve been good at that.

I trust it’ll come timewise, before Newmont get around to making decisions.

If anybody’s going to ‘run’ H other than Newmont, and there’s been half a plan, with the newer recruits it should be Ggp, and you could argue Wyloo was part and parcel of putting them there. Whatever, it’s clear Wyloo will have a persuasive hand in the shots, in my opinion. Telfer remains key to operations.

I agree with that AK. It was always there as a possibility, but the spectre of a huge raise with the listing being put back potentially waiting to support action following a Newmont decision to divest stands out.

I get that. They already put him on the back foot with the MRE.

I wouldn’t regard it as a trap. He’s MD of Ggp, and is addressing Ggp shareholders on Ggp progress. This ongoing suggestion of ‘arty-crafty’ stuff doesn’t wash with me.

But I do appreciate he may not be getting the cooperation he wants from the senior partners.

It is appreciated he’s a junior partner. If things are beyond his control, then come out and say so, that he has no idea until Newcrest/Newmont tell him.

I would at the least expect some form of guidance tonight as to how things are progressing, with the MRE, FS, and consequently a DTM. Mr. Day must have an insiders expectation on timings. He surely realises it is frustrating for his own shareholders to maintain a stance that it’s all down to Newcrest, then Newmont and they’re just too busy.

You don’t know that, though I take the sense of it. And Ggp has to agree to sell 30% H, or itself.
