You see, on this MRE thing, I would pose the question, in the absence of a hit somewhere, what ‘news’ would potential investors reasonably expect next? No doubt there may be some sort of resistance on here to it, but I suggest it is the MRE.

One appreciated there can be delays and different drill results feed into different summaries, yet they all go to shareholder interest. There is no technical reason for a failure to date to publish a Havieron MRE, but it is coming, and about time too. Non-publication has not helped the share price.

If Bamps is referring to Tiggerman, and the question of shareholders being kept to date, it is unrealistic to suggest that the MRE is ‘a subject that has no relevance to these drill results.’

I do not consider Tig to be a blinkered one in that respect.

Contrary to Bamps, I wish them well with it. I would have thought it in Newmont/Ggp’s best interests to have other projects feeding into Telfer. But there you go.

Nevertheless, if your supposition is correct, authorised participants may continue to buy the underlying securities and exchange for GDXJ.

Though up by some 3% over 10 days, GDXJ is down 0.26% today.

You seem to misunderstand. The thread is how much would posters accept if an offer came for Ggp with no change in circumstances in January.

Mine was 16.4p, giving me 100%.

As to the rest, it all depends on real events. If I get to 200% up, I shall consider myself fortunate, regardless of what others think or do.

Just to be clear, I am taking part in the ‘fun’ thread. As I said earlier in that respect, if things transpire to give me 100% profit as a result of an offer, I would be far from miserable about that.

Greatland Gold (GGP) is caught in the centre of the multi-billion-dollar combination of Newcrest Mining (AU:NCM) and Newmont (US:NEM) like an umbrella in a cyclone. Newcrest owns 70 per cent of the Havieron project that Greatland discovered, which is not yet a finished mine. It is 45km from the Telfer mine, and will feed ore directly into the existing processing plant rather than being a standalone operation.

Buying Newcrest will turn the world’s biggest gold miner, Newmont, into an even more dominant industry force. A report by auditor Grant Samuel valued the combined Telfer and Havieron projects at $500mn-$600mn, making Greatland’s stake worth $180mn (£150mn) using the high-end valuation, well below Greatland's own £300mn market cap. Greatland said this valuation included closure costs and other liabilities to which it is not exposed. A fair amount of work has already gone into Havieron for a project without a feasibility study or final investment decision: the decline, or mine entrance, goes down over a mile. Avoid. AH

Save if somebody goes over a board’s heads, as Wyloo did direct to shareholders, with Mincor, under different circumstances.

We will react to reasoned recommendations made by the board, is usually the way of it, who will have run it over Wyloo etc., and likely follow them.
