The only instance where your comment would be true is if the asset was damaged in some way where it would impossible or illegal to sell the product. Surely any asset on your books doesn’t need to be written off and will hold a value in your books until either sold or reaches a point where it can’t be sold for sone reason.

The books will show a cost value or anticipated realisable value which may be higher or lower than what it is actually sold for.

Tiffin, a little tip for you. If you’re going to use a demeaning insult then it’s better served when spelt correctly otherwise you’ll come across as a loser

The true realisable value is what it can be sold for, anything else is guesswork ultimately

It’s the same with any asset, the book value is for accounting purposes whereas it’s true value is only what someone is prepared to pay for it.

Spikey, that’s a fair comment re WK. It was getting rammed down everyone’s throat that mining had been resumed at WK and anyone questioning it was shot down. Now that the bod have confirmed that it’s not the case I wonder if those pushing that narrative will come out and explain their reasoning for pushing it.
