Yes, Aspenwood, you are totally correct. SP doesn’t always track profitability, it’s more to due with potential future earnings and likelihood some other person/company would buy out ARB at a premium to the SP. Dividends should not be so high as to stifle future growth.

Rights issues are a good way of enticing investors to hold by offering discounted shares based on current holding. This is win-win as the company generates cash while holders get cheap shares.

At the moment, there is no monetary return for our investment, only the hope other investors will pay a higher price for our shares than we did.

The big money will be invested when ARB start paying a dividend. PW did not rule this out when questioned and I think it may come soon.

Meanwhile, don’t moan about day-to-day SP and take advantage of dips if you still believe in ARB’s future prospects.

Anyone selling this morning has probably been waiting in the wings for the price to fall further before buying back in.
Now the market has started rising again, I’m fairly sure they will want to buy back in before losing more.

The spread is very narrow at the moment making it hard to differentiate between buys and sells but is often a good indicator of good demand for shares. I expect SP to finish closer to open at COP.

Misterbeck - That’s the way to do it! I follow a similar strategy to increase my holding. Doesn’t always move in that direction though!

Volatility is vital in building wealth. Take advantages in dips to buy cheap. I can’t believe someone waited for 265p when they missed out at 305p. Why not just set a limit sell and wait for the next spike if you don’t want to wait for the real money?

Gareth, I didn’t get in at 5p and did buy shares at 27p at open day. Over time I’ve dropped my average by buying £1K on the dip then selling £1K when it jumps back. I then watch for the next dip and repeat the process. If the SP doesn’t recover but drops further I buy another £1K and wait for that to recover before selling £1K. It’s a bit like day trading over small trades but means concentrating on small stakes and takes the focus from the main block of shares whilst slowing bringing the average down.
Well worth setting up limit buys and sells because with Cellular these spikes are often for fractions of a second.
Don’t lose sleep. The SP is, IMHO, likely to rise sharply on positive news reasonably soon.
