Wherever we end up, I just hope they have a decent Capex budget in place.
My Cine in Sheffield needs about half a dozen new projector lamps as the picture is so dark and the lfe's are rattling like mad if you want to watch non-blockbuster films in the 'smaller' screens.
A few of them have been upgraded with laser projectors which was encouraging but not enough and now there's only the IMAX there that guarantees decent picture and sound these days.
Hopefully we come out the other end in a good place and can truly give customers the 'best place to watch a movie'.
Mooky himself said in one of the webinars (before it all went breasts up) that he/cine/the wider industry doesn't expect the release schedule to get back to normal until 2024.
Blackrock (Disney) with their $trillions worth of assets will be all over this.
Owning another massive pipeline with which to flood the NPC's with THE MESSAGE will be itchingly attractive to them.
Big big things happening here I reckon whichever side of the political fence you sit on.
Owning Cine has larger societal implications rather than just making money for those wanting to influence the narrative.
Think they're all waiting for the noise to calm down as it's been like a drunken party with all my gob5****e aunties all sqwaking over one another in here lately.
I'm still here though with a shed load more of cheap shares.
Cos this is far from over.
Can feel there's some big surprises coming up in the next few months.
Gotta love this rollercoaster. It just keeps on going!
Sammy, I'm here right now about to watch Star Trek and smashing all the Nachos before I go in!!!
There more this goes on, the more I think that some staff writer at the WSJ saw the RNS, Googled for some news and came across the article from a few years ago.
That old article also mentioned Alix Partners being brought in to look at possible Bankruptcy measures.
Just sounds too much like the same news to me.
Bet the writer didn't check the date of the article he was making copy pasta from.
Diamonddog is my kinda guy.
This is where life is at right??? ON. THE. EDGE.
Yeeeeahhh!
I HEAR NO FAT LADY!
LOLZ.
So it's been changed to 'next couple of weeks' huh?
This is no better than a football transfer rumours forum.
I've said it before, we had this ages back when Alix were reported to be working with Cine to wind it up.
F-All happened.
Could the original WSJ columnist have just been putting meat on the bones on the RNS along with asking his mate on Wall St what he thinks and it's gone viral?
Pi55 myself if this turned out to be a massive case of 'my mate down the pub said...'
Wasn't it about a year or so ago that everyone lost their shiz over a news article saying that Cineworld had brought in bankruptcy specialists and yet nothing ever came of that?
I've just bought 20k shares for f-all on the gamble that this is just a reporter embellishing on the RNS from the other day.
I'm 8k down as it is. Fuk it!!
Either this really is the end or Mooky is playing one hell of a hand in the poker game with Cineplex.
Why release this news now instead of on results day next month?
The RNS had the words 'potential' and 'likely' scattered about. Not lying but could never materialise either.
Either way, it's been exciting.
Let's see how this eventually plays out.
Gut feeling tells me there's something more to this though.
TO THE END!
My Cineworld is rolling out some proper old skool classics.
I'm off to watch Star Trek: The Motion Picture & Wrath of Khan over the next two weekends.
Saw Tomorrow Never Dies last night as well.
Weirdly, it was packed. And with a much older crowd. Same for Licence to Kill.
Makes sense during these quiet periods I suppose. And helps keep up the admission numbers.
Roll on September/October.
Disney know where the money at.
Bring it to the UK, Cine!!!

Went to watch Licence to Kill (1989) at Sheffield last week and it was absolutely packed. Seriously.
I couldn't work it out.
Thought I'd be the only person there when I first booked - I'm a big Bond fan.
But great atmosphere. People laughing at the right things and just a generally enjoyable experience - like this was first time it was released.
And finally saw Bullet Train last night.
Again - brilliant atmosphere. Laughs, gasps and an almost full auditorium.
Bottom line: We'll get there in the end.
People want to be a part of a social event.
Believe in the human experience as WB have and it's just a matter of time until the money flowing in forces the sp up. Quicker if the court case can get resolved in our favour.
I'm not sure on that but hoping that Babz and co will get exposed for revealing obvious insider info or conflict of interest.
Love and kisses, Crumpets. Xxx
Boo have now taken our 2nd spot.
Won't be long until Boo take our spot. ;)
Bye, Felicia.
Shocker!
I believed in the company, still do and share my views.
If you were a holder before, you'd know that conservative views are welcomed. I our own FunInvestor being the best at presenting a sober view.
What's never welcomed is the absolute glee that so many of the visitors here seem to take in bashing Cine for no other reason than it seems to be that they enjoy doing it.
Just like you and the others are doing now.
You timed it right.
Great. I'd be glad for you.
But you can't help having a dig and seemingly getting angry at others not selling during the current situation.
No one's going to take that seriously.
So you sold out and are here to gloat over paper losses.
Wow.
What a hero.
They'll sing songs about you in the future.
Bingo, Ant!
I really wish they'd just admit that though.
Would be a cathartic experience for them.
