I actually real-life LOL'd reading this article.
Just how many shares in Disney does the kid writing this actually own? I'm guessing a lot.
The mental gymnastics he performs to explain that piracy isn't necessarily a bad thing is quite something to behold.
States that music piracy was just about eliminated when Spotify became mainstream without acknowledging that Spotify is erm.. ya know.. free!!
Unbelievable, Jeff.
Here. Have a laugh at this:

I know it's just anecdotal but just got back from my local Cineworld in Sheffield and it was proper packed.
Car park full, all the tills open and good healthy queues at the concessions.
Bar open and a really good atmosphere in the place.
Unfortunately, I've actually decided to make some lifestyle changes lately in order to lose a load of this weight so only had a small popcorn instead of the usual full monty of hot dogs and ice cream.
The rest of Sheffield seemed to be making up for me though.
As I said, just one person's observation but there was certainly no fear of Covid here tonight. It was back to normal with real gusto.
Normally, you'd expect taking on more debt to be seen as an opportunity to crash the sp.
But the encouraging thing here is where it says ' does not have a material impact on the Group's weighted average cost of debt.'
And also 'agreed covenant amendments on certain of its existing debt facilities, including reducing the minimum liquidity requirement and relaxing limitations on the use of cash.'
The lenders and indeed Cine are sending out a statement that they believe in the business and are happy to support it through to a return to normality.
Excellent news and surely had to be seen as such by the market.
Yup.
Happens quite often on this site!
Crumpets reckons the August interim results will be shybo. But we're all expecting that anyways.
Maybe, probably priced in already.
But then from September onwards, it's just massive great blockbuster one after the other.
So full year results should be really positive if the U.S stays open.
Don't worry about Monday.
*Disclaimer: Don't listen to Crumpets. He is consistently wrong and will FORCE hot buttered (but unfortunately heavily soiled) crumpets through your letterbox if you reference his posts in the future.*
AHL are averaging up!!
Seriously, they need to get out before year end or else this position is brown bread for them.
DH1 or whatever they're called are the barstewards we need to fook off. CBA to check the short tracker - pizza arriving any moment so need to keep an ear out.
Anyways, they shorted at about 1.80 ish.
Now our never, boyos.
OMG - just watched this on your post and I am actually LOL'ing!!!
Absolutely love Jackass.
Gonna have to make some calls and texts to old friends to see this.
Brilliant brilliant brilliant!!!
Of course it's saturated.
People only have so much money to spend on streaming services on top of their standard media and sports subscriptions.
One, maybe two will be dominant.
But what then?
As if other studios will want to pay a rival to show their product on a network that is easily pirate-able. If that's a word!
We've done this loads in the past and it's good to see that it's finally playing out in the real world so that everyone can see that streaming will never beat out the cinema and is actually a dud in this respect.
Great for episodic TV and old films on one or two providers.
But that's it.
And as soon as it becomes clear that Disney will no longer persist with the silmu-release strategy, the game will be over and that idea can join TV, VCR's, DVD's, Satellite, Cable and all the others that claimed to bring an end to the cinematic experience.
It's fun, it's social, the screen and sound can't be replicated at home and is safe from piracy.
But most of all, it's a magical experience for kids and can still give world weary adults that smile back. :)
Bye, Felicia.
Lhall has got to be ShorterGuy.
He's getting more and more wound up and aggressive while telling other people not to be angry.
That was one of his tells in his posting style.
He'd been trying so hard to hide it but the mask has dropped and now his roach mates are scurrying all over the place, he's emboldened to resort to his hateful self.
Keep it coming son, let's get you banned again.
According to Knucklehead McSpazmatron I've only invested £500 so I hope you all enjoy a transport cafe off the A38.
Nisan said in the last webcast 'around the end of June'.
That's been and gone. Obvs.
But officially, September. I think.
Source: My own memory.
Conclusion: Unreliabile info. Take with rock sized grain of salt. But probably right.
While ever the general public continue to lap up the clickbait and ragebait Covid articles from the media, this will rattle on.
The media corps are laughing like hyenas right now as they don't even have to do any actual journalism. Just report on cases and ramp up the hysteria. Then sit back and watch the clicks and comments fill up.
As I said - easy journalism. The case numbers are published every day at 4pm. Anyone can view them.
Real journalism would be to look behind the dashboard numbers and investigate how many people are actually in hospital because of Covid directly and how many have died due to Covid directly - not as being present in the body at time of death.
That'll be too much hard work though.
In fact, it was one if the Tory backbenchers who asked Matt Hancok this very question and asked for those very numbers.
He got a very vague and wooly response to that. Quelle surprise.
Until someone in the media decides to take a different path, the casedemic narrative will be pumped onto people's news feeds and TV, radio etc with abandon.
It's too easy and too profitable.
And it affects us here, unfortunately.
Erm, from where we are now, an 82% increase? that's approximately 115p. Agreed.
£4?
That would be over a 500% increase.
Unless I've had far too many beers in this sun!!??
Yup.
Disney top brass / shareholders will not be happy at the lost revenue from pirating / multiple log-ins / diluted revenue from one screen showing to multiple people.
Option 1) Return to theatrical release
Option 2) Own a cinema chain
But not every studio will be able to do option 2.
The cinema experience is here to stay.
No worries, FI.
Between me, you, Saihaj, Moola, RS2000 , zstars (whatever happened to him??) and many others, we've been through thick and thin.
You get a lot of stick on here for just stating a balanced view.
I thought often about adding my two penneth to back you up but figured you didn't need it.
I'm also loving the new contingent of holders.
And that PrettyWild is hilding her own in our testosterone fuelled arena and sticking it out particularly.
Enough sentimental outpourings for now.
Let's kick on and make some dosh.
Ah, Im grumpy cos I'm fat and it's hot.
And my favourite takeaway has a massive wait on.
I love you all really.
Let's move on and get this north of £1.
I've not come this far to fall out with some awesome people.
Love and kisses, xxx
Ok, we'll not talk about short interest movements in this share we're all invested in that is also the most heavily shorted stock on the FTSE.
Nothing to see here.
Biscuits, yeh?
What's nonsense about it, Les?
The shorts have increased which is a legitimate topic of conversation.
Sorry if I've missed this already - been very busy (and sweaty) today.
But just noticed that AHL actually increased their position by 0.09% yesterday.
I just don't get why they'd increase at such a low sp.
Thoughts?
Apologies if already discussed.
