'“The feedback that we have received from Genmab on the anti-glycan monoclonal antibody is that they liked the specifics of the candidate,” Lindy Durrant, Scancell CEO, told BioWorld. “For example, strong tumor staining and limited expression on normal tissues. They also liked the good internalization of the candidate showing the potential for delivery of antibody-drug conjugate.”
This is far from the first agreement between the two companies. In January 2001, Genmab and then-privately held Scancell began a collaboration to create a fully human antibody for targeting the Lewisy/b antigen, which is overexpressed in breast, lung, colon and ovarian cancers.'
A long association!
