Agreed... the thing is not sure how many manufacturers of genuine treatments would back it I doubt scancell would though patient pressure can be very powerful....to my mind would be better overhauling the trial system and when a drug is shown to be effective and when it is not...

It's a tricky one but seems we will get to see how it goes as Trumps done it... there do seem to be safety valves in place but we all know what happens when big money is involved...the fact is though many new treatments are being invented week after week.. also some show amazing efficacy in trial very fast.... again I come back to modi1 it is a latestage disease treatment it will be trialled in very ill patients basically the terminally ill... if it (and we all hope it will) proves itself in those 3 trial indications and it would prove itself fast on full dose... then surely such a treatment needs to be given special consideration due to the need for it... however then I wonder is it good to just experiement on people in an uncontrolled way... I'm sure LD would not like that she would want data and an understanding of why it works and more importantly why it does not... tricky

Not sure either but reading patient boards I see a lot of people are getting hold of those drugs for cancers they are yet to be approved for... desperation creates such a market....the whole process needs a rethink but certainly we can see why trials are so important but also how blooming expensive and difficult to get going they are too!

I see the potential of abuse if drug manufacturers get certain physicians in their pockets... though also I see the potential to save lives if done properly... I already know lots of people are using Keytruda etc for cancers they have yet to be approved for...but seeing as those are approved drugs already that is less of an issue than just giving out drugs that might not even have been trialled at all...... tough one

So Trump has just signed a bill for terminal patients in the US to try experimental non-approved treatments without applying to the FDA first... 'The new Right to Try act allows patients with life-threatening diseases to bypass the FDA's application process for "compassionate use" of experimental drugs. Patients seeking access to "investigational drugs" now need only the approval of their physician and the drug manufacturer. The new bill protects doctors and companies from the legal risks of allowing unapproved treatments unless they intentionally harm a patient. The policy that patients must have exhausted all other approved treatments and clinical trial options remain.' Not sure if it is a good or bad thing?... though I imagine a scenario of if modi1 is already manufactured and showing a response in the cancer targets it will be trialled in then certain patients with different cancers that modi1 covers but will not be trialled in could then ask to try it? Though seems our modi1 trial will be UK based but anyways opens a door of possibilities.

Yeah, one thing we can say with absolute certainty is cancer is not bothered about sp... our ip though well that might change everything...too late for many but LD's future vision means this monster could well be tamed and the tools to do it are in us all..... seemed NW bio only made 6% on its much much (how did they manage that hmm) publicised release of data... so market not too sure about it which makes sense as pays to be cautious about that particular company.....hopefully some nice newsflow here soon as we can see the patern is as ever the same.

I think this is where having the esteemed people we having working with us separates scancell from the rest... how many of those trials will KF be involved with and CRUK... seems scancell are playing this crowded field just right.

Quote of interest for us coming from the FT article is from Pascal Soriot,chief exec at Astra Zeneca....who predicts though companies will be looking for monotherapy activity they will still take risks on combining new techs due to how very competitive the race is....which all looks super good for scancell and makes me think our upcoming trials are going to be very closely watched by many potential partners. Anyways a nice article and TG has already retweeted it :)

Northwest bio getting all the press today with those glioblastomas results though I'm not sure the results are actually that great?...anyways more good coverage for immunotherapy and might help Woodford a little... Merck being commited to Keytruda so totally is no bad thing for scancell they could end up needing us more than we need them....seeing as ImmunoBody works in mono and with other CI's too... no company having a patent landgrab on CI tech :)

Yeah exactly... not sure why they had to do it before scancell but like I say no expert on the procedure...possibly the device has to be given the go-ahead before scancell put the vaccine forward? don't know but we know the wheels are at last in motion.

I'm not sure how it all works but surely that the device already passed for a trial means there ought to be no problem in getting clearance for our trial but the protocol has to be followed and as far as we know Ichor have put in an IND for our trial but we have no idea what has happened since only that scancell have yet to IND themselves...

Seems a misunderstanding... P7 seems to have thought Ichors IND was approved when all we know is they have sent in their IND... I'm sure it will all fall into place but hopefully now the funds are in that trial will start ASAP

Though what position it leaves us in in the future... we have not done this nano deal yet but seems to be brewing in the background with terms being discussed between whoever it is we have chosen...if SCIB2 combo is a roaring success using nano delivery and SCIB1 has already by then shown success in combo using Ichor would anyone doing a deal want to deal with Ichor too or want to go straight to the more patient and costs friendly not to mention potentially more potent nano delivery route.... oh well won't be losing sleep over it myself but will be an issue at some point :)

Yeah, that pretty much answers it.. SCIB1 is already manufactured and ichor ready.. so no nano delivery there... IND got to be soon then surely..
